Cost for installation of JCW?

How much will it cost to get the JCW ECU, filter and exhaust upgrade installed by a MINI dealership?

Second F/U question: full JCW vs. full Alta?

Answer:
Want warranty with expensive small power? - JCW
Want inexpensive awesome power but could affect warranty? - Alta

Completely different leagues they are. Full ALTA could net ridiculous amounts of horsepower for about the same as JCW, but your dealer might not like it.

I'd go for full ALTA only after waiting a few thousand miles to see if anything serious fails, but if warranty is your thing, JCW is a decent compromise.

Range of initially quoted install costs from the (two) dealers in my area is $300 to $600 (the latter of which I thought was ridiculous). Mini's suggested install time for the kit is only 2 hours; thus, the lowest I'd expect you could get it installed for is $200.

Wow, I was at a dealer this weekend that had somewhere around $3000 for the JCM Kit IIRC. THey also had a car in with the JCW brakes (I thought this car already had upgraded brakes. for $3250.00

So the cost of the above mentioned JCW upgrades would be ~$1700 for parts from Morristown Mini and ~400-500 for installation.

Freeman,

I don't think you'll find a dealer willing to install another dealers parts so be careful assuming that you can buy from Morristown.

That said, my dealer started at 3K and I was able to get them to List price on the parts plus 2 hrs labor which was much more reasonable.

I think list price is higher than MSRP

At least for accessories, I've had the parts counter guys tell me a price and I'm like "what? the brochure has it for this amount" and they say that the price they gave me was list price. Then I argue for the price in the catalog.

I had absolutely no problem convincing my dealer (Momentum Houston) to install the JCW kit from Morristown (1700$) charging 2 hours labour (as far as I remember it was 108$/hour
