Black grill surrounds

You guys know where I can get the black grill surrounds like the JCW aero kit has. I really like the all black grill . I think it would look real nice on my DS/B MCS. Thanks in advance!!

No clue if you can get them anywhere but if you have a body shop that you're on good terms with, they will paint yours for you for fairly cheap, something I'm planning to have done to mine. I agree, it makes a big esthetic difference.

Someone is selling the OEM black grilles for R56; I think they were about $80. Can't seem to find them at the moment but they are out there.

Is minspeed not one of the vendors on NAM? Don't see them on the vendor list. After checking out their site, I see that they do carry some good stuff for the R56 that others don't yet. Thx for this new tip!

Odservation on the JCW grille

I got the JCW grille pieces to replace my chrome ones, but for some reason the lower grille was poping out which was not a big deal so i went ahead and got the JCW grille part lower and upper pieces, I found out the JCW has one more clip at each end which the OEM does not, that was the reason for the not so perfect fit. I also realized that the JCW has a more agressive look with lower restrictions for air flow, bigger opening and each is also ABS material Vs. the hard plastic on the OEM, just a little detail which can make a big difference when you are motoring on a HWY and loose your lower surraound piece.

All of these means I will have a JCW black grille set for sale when I replace the plastics with the aero kit :impatient which comes with all these pieces. unless I can buy only the front and rear bumper and side skirts but I doubt it.

I want flat black. There is none available commercially as far as I know. That means I will have to do it myself as well. How did you do it?

In the UK they are available from any Mini dealer.....and they are the cheapest place to buy them from.

Yeah, the black grill trim looks so much better IMO. It was such an easy mod and changed the look of the car dramatically! I love it!
