Holy parcel shelf ripoff

So I called Patrick this past weekend to inquire about their price of the euro parcel shelf, keeping in mind that Classic sells it for around 75 and Motoringfile recommends mentioning that to price match.

Well....I was quoted a WHOPPING 162, in stock!!! I then mentioned classic, and the 75 price, and was told "the lowest I could go on this is 140" !!!!! I cannot even imagine the reason behind such a DRASTIC price difference, and the parts department at Patrick MINI should be ashamed of themselves for such a gouge job.

I guess I will be calling Classic before the week is out.

I too was horrified at the price of MINI bits and pieces. They are, after all, mostly cheap, mass-produced stuff. Then I saw how much the Lambo dealer wants for some of their stuff!!
For example: MINI sweatshirt about $60-$70 CDN. Exhorbitant? Absolutely.
Lambo Sweatshirt is about $350CDN. Criminal? Possibly.

It's also available at OutMotoring for $79.95 including the rather expensive shelf liner but they had it on sale a couple of weeks ago for $69.95. The parcel shelf and liner combo are just under $110 at one of our local dealers. So Classic and Outmotoring prices are bargains

i got mine from rasmussen mini in portland for $60 something minus the rubber mat which cost $15 or something, i made my own rubber mat out of a $1 peace of rubber. i would report that dealer cause i don't think they are supposed to be jacking the prices up like that.

I reported my dealer for running a parts scam. saying that they installed parts on my car when they did not.. MINI.CA did not care... the response was, "oh, we will look into that" and they didn't sound like they cared too much at all.

I call CLASSIC for parts 90% of the time lately. I don't even bother with other dealers.

I think the problem is MINI.ca is more a marketing exercise than a customer service operation. Better to contact MINI by mail or use the 800 number they give you on the service card. MINI Canada does care, you just need to talk to the right division and take the names of those you talk to. That way if you move up the ladder to complain further you can point the finger at who dropped the ball on your initial concern.

Outmotoring.com ....$88.63 was total I paid including shipping. Could have saved and additional $10 when they had it on sale.

Perhaps the $162.00 was for installation as well. Otherwise Holy Parcel Tray that's expensive.

Sorry, I did call the customer line at MINI Canada, that is what I meant by MINI.ca... I did not use the webhelp. And I do get their names and extensions whenever I call somewhere. So I can tell them who I was talking to and what we agreed on, special deals, promo's, refunds, etc. I also use it when I get great service as well.
