MINI Cooper/Cooper S Rear Air Deflector

I just put an experimental piece on my black car last night. The whole purpose of it is to keep the back end of the MINI cleaner. One good thing already is that the car was just as stable as ever at 90mph on the highway.
I don't have pics yet, sorry. I will let you know if it works.

What do you have in mind?

I've seen rear defloctors (under-body pieces) but it costs way too much.

Give us more infos!

Keeping the MINI's rear-end is a hard job, and anything that could help would be welcome!

I think you are referring to the Hamann rear diffuser, that i've seen sell for anywhere between $600 and $900. I talked with a guy who has one on his MINI and said it does nothing to keep the back end cleaner. I would imagine it does what it was intended to do and provide additional downforce "at speed".

Just an update here, the rear air deflector(RAD) has been on my car for three days now, boot isn't any more dirty than before I put it on. Supposed to be getting some nasty weather here today, so we'll see if it passes the test.

Wow, old thread.
It did work to some degree, not as well as I would have liked. I decided to move on to one that replaces the factory spoiler. However, it's not as high on the list as some other mods i'm working on. sorry.
