Hehehe... Like a real-life Spy Hunter. I'll take the "Oil Slick" option, personally.

Man...I ran across a Lambo Door kit, and the first thing I thought was, "Crap, I'm an idiot! I just spent $1,500 on a clear bra! (YES, I regret it!) I could have put that money toward some freak'n sweet doors." I say go for it. Then post some pics and leave the rest of us drooling all over a keyboards.

Lambo doors are so last century. You want to do something cool with your doors, set them up to hinge at the back -- suicide doors. Or put then on a track to pop out and slide back along the side of the car like a van. Or split them below the window line and clamshell them.

But not Lambos. That's been done to death.

Lambo doors done right still look cool.

Suicide doors, sliding doors, etc are all extremely impractical, as they would require extensive body modification.

Lambo doors can bolt right on and are pretty easy to do yourself.

Of all the idiotic ricer things to do to a car, the "Lambo doors" mod is the one that actually makes sense to me. If your doors open upward, then they don't open out where they can bang into things--like concrete pylons or other cars. It's really too bad that car doors weren't made to open vertically to begin with, thus using otherwise unused vertical space.

Or even gullwing doors - the DeLorean only requires 11 inches of clearance to the side in order to open the doors.

No door frames. Good luck with that one.

Ive seen a few that were done right, and they usually cut out a section of the roof like the delorean to lift up too, and it looks prety neat.

Well, keep in mind that with the LSD kit the doors DO open outwards before they swing up. This is actually a good thing with the MINI, since our door glass has to roll down a bit when the door opens, to make a proper seal upon closure. I've seen videos on the LSD site that shows a person getting into the car with the doors opened out but still down, so they do open quite a bit. That said, I do agree with you. though - this is a MOD that not only looks startling but also serves a genuine purpose...

I'm still waiting for a Koenigsegg door kit for the MINI. That's something you won't see a lot of, and it's definitely functional

Dammit you beat me to it! What I wouldn't give for dihedral syncro-helix actuated doors
