It is your car, so you can do whatever to it. I think it'll be unique since you wouldn't expect a mini to have lambo doors. SO if you plan on doing it, awesome and hope everything works out well with them. And take some pics if you can on the process of it!

I think your MINI looks great, now. The doors would look so cool. From the pix posted with the Lambo doors they look awesome.

Most of us live different life-styles. What we have and what we do with them at least to a point reflects our life-style. Many of us have our MINIS because of what other people will think. I would be lying if I said it didn't make me feel good when people turn their heads when they see my MINI coming down the road. Trust me, with those doors, heads would turn

If you are someone concerned with resale value, don't do it. There is a lot of welding to make those doors work on the MINI. They may bolt on but the MINI doors don't bolt off. Most of our MINIS can be returned to stock with little or no problem. Those doors can't.

From the list of your other cars, and yes, I have lusted in my heart this MINI is about the less expensive of the group; so, resale value doesn't seem to be a problem.

 

I like my MINI with lambo doors. And getting in has proven to be really hard. I can get a foot in and thats about it.

This has been an eye-opening thread for me.
I just want to set the record straight. I don't hate people who have more (fill in the blank) than me. You shouldn't be concerned how much labor costs... you're driving the economy! I never said "don't do it." If opinions are considered "flaming", then don't ask for them. Like, I won't suggest introducing lazer light into the door glass edges to help make the raised doors pop at night kind of thing.
Or Tiffinany crystal headlight lenses.

I gave my opinion, and and seems like most people that liked the lambo doors could not take it. Maybe the title of the thread should of been somehting like:

"Lambo Doors for MCS, if you fantasize over them, your welcome, if not GET LOST!.

 

First off, i didn't mean my hater comment to be directed at you. I misread that my quote was pointed at minitors quote which was actually pointed at your quote. I got a bit confused, i was more talking about others in this thread. Although i dont condone you being negative about how someone types, i believe that you said it in a some-what polite way. No...hater isnt EVERYONE who dislikes the doors. Heck, i dont personally like lambo doors. But i would never step in and tell him not to do it if he wants to. If he wants to, i will say go for it! A hater takes a stance of authority by saying that they are right, and thus he must be wrong for wanting lambos.

Haters are people who say they dont like it and because of that say he shouldn't do it, or that he is a ricer for doing it. They take this weird position that they must be right in their negative feelings. I don't like the doors, but believe that, because he likes the they are the right thing for his car. I will never place my opinion as being the one sole truth in this world. We all have our own opinions and certain mods are "right" for some people and "not right" for other people, thats how life is. A hater doesn't realize this and feels that there is one right way (usually their way), and if anyone tries anything else its "wrong" or "rice"

I thank you for sharing your opinion, thats what this board is for. How boring would it be if we all just agreed with eachother? I want to see all opinions, good or bad. What i dont want to see is people saying they dont like it AND that the person is wrong for wanting to do that. They have no place to stand and say the owner is wrong, and it gets us no where and it doesn't help the community. So i ask that anyone who doesn't like a mod please simply say so, and perhaps give reasons (only constructive ones...not that lambos are on hondas,make it something that might help the owner in his decision whether it be 'yes' or 'no'). There is no reason to take it further and insult the owner for his opinion.

It's ironic that you called me on making a personal attack but followed it up with "its pathetic". Well handled. The person is in fact compensating for SOMETHING...they feel that their opinion MUST be right and that Hamann's MUST be wrong. If they didnt feel that way, they wouldn't make the insulting comments that they do.

Go ahead, dont like certain mods....i do that too. And go ahead and say that you dont like them, i have done that a lot too. But never tell the other person that they are "wrong for liking it".

The red one from the Gomini mag has always been my favorite example with the lambo doors. Its simple, no gaudy decals all over the car, a nice set of simple wheels, and aero kit and driving lights. It looks really cool.

Id love to have the Lambo doors, but, since my car will soon be relegated to "just a daily driver" again soon, i'm probably gonna hold off on it.

The mini is one of the few cars that these doors look good on. Ive seen a few cars in person with lambo doors, most just use the cheaper Autoloc system. They looked odd for one reason--the door has a windowframe. The mini has a window without a frame, so, it looks better. I saw an F150 at the autorama last year with lambo doors, and that just looked plain stupid.

Go for it hamann, id love to see your car with them.
