One rotten egg sure ruins the bunch.

I always wonder if the people who "criticize" would do the same in person or if they are hiding behind their computers?

I would kill for lambo doors. Well maybe not kill. Well...maybe?

Even better....would they do it while they were near their car? I find that 90% of the haters on this board have boring bland cars, and have no right to talk

Don't listen to what people say....it's just ingnorance talking half the time.

Show us the pics when its done

some lambo'd mini's

[He who dies with the most toys is just as dead as any other dead guy. Mike Predina

True to that but he who enjoys all his toys the most is the winner

I think the door thing is sorta trendy personally. I'll admit I like it, but I suspect that when viewed a few years from now its gonna be the automotive equivalent of a mullet. Perhaps I'm jaded, but hey they're your $$$, your thing, your decision, have fun.

Personally, if I were going to dump money into a MINI, I'd go totally the opposite direction and try to strip every nonessential piece of kit out of the car. Put a show car next to a racer and I'll pick the racer every time. If you could find a way to get the car down to 1900#s and still streetable, then you'd have me drooling. Where I'm coming from that would be something to covet and admire. Tube it, flare it, move the motor amidships, whoa, you'd be my hero.

Not to be overly PC, but I do try to always remember that some value style, some value economy and some value performance. Some like to show their cars, some like to drive the wheels off them. Some think that a car makes a statement about who they are or what they'd like to be, some could care less about what others think while still others love their ride but are embarassed by what they suspect it represents. Some polish their rides, some value every clag mark on the hood as patina. No right or wrong, just differing points of view. If we all saw things the same way, there'd be no point in having a board or discussions like this in the first place. Me I'm heavy into the clag. Best of luck to you .

Hay I live in Germany and the same BMW dealer that has the modified aero kit and evo style hood does a professional job installing the LSD Lambo Doors and I have seen it done and on in person and let me tell you it is not a do it yourself kit but well worth the $2000.00 dollars to have someone else do the work right. The doors do infact open normal then swing up to allow for easy entrance and exit. Yes even with the MINI on its roof. HAHA I hate it when people don't research and just post.

Man I say go for it. Your MINI looks great already and I doubt this would hurt the look. Another neat idea would be to somehow fabricate a bracket or something to make your door like the ones on a Koenigsegg CCR, those are freakin sweet!:

BTW if you don't mind me asking what do you do for a living to have all those SWEEEET cars? I might want to look into that field. I am so envious.

So true. I remember twice in the last year that old cocky "MINI traditionalists" talked smack about my car in front of me and then walked back to their bone stock cars.

And this pic is truly inspiring to me. Screw the weight. It looks like MINITOR with lambo doors. I want it.

Hey and thats a good pic of me too

So how come everytime Hamann posts a thread about how he wants to spend his money it turns into some big old argument about money and haters? I say let him spend, maybe he'll run out of ideas and it will start to trickle down to us.

I am going to wade into the fray on this one:

I don't know that I would want them on my car but if it is your thing go for it. Were I to do it I would have it done vice doing it myself. From the looks of the kit if you have done a couple of them the install is probably pretty straight forward. If you have never done it I am sure that it is an absolute nightmare. Save the headaches and have it done especially if you are spending a good chunk of change on the kit itself.

That said, my preference would be for something that opened more than 45 degrees to make getting in and out easier. The CCR type doors though freaking awesome would be difficult to duplicate and even if you found a shop to try I don't think you would be happy with the results or the amount of money you would end up spending on it.

My .02
