Obviously I realize that most people don't think like this, but it certainly helps to put things in perspective and keeps [me at least] from getting too caught up in one hobby.

And for all the "stop the hating" people... remember that he DID come in here and ask for opinions. If he was scared of getting flamed he wouldn't have. You don't give him enough credit... he knew what he was getting into after the 19" wheel thread

Not to be too critical but it looks like it may be hard to get in that car. That is the 45 Deg kit correct? If so you may need to have it open a little more. But all and all I like lambo doors. And Lambo's are Italian correct? So it cant be ricer. It has to be something like pasta, or meatball. Just my two cents.

Wow, that's an interesting concept. Post on an Internet board to ask for opinions, but get mad at the people who actually say what they think.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you cant accept criticism, dont post on internet boards.

its okay other peoples opinion does not bother me. it just shows that we have a mix crowd in this forum. other are conservative and other are the young and artistic. You guys are right thats the purpose of owning a mini its fun, different, cute and attracts attention. For me its fun . Its not like buying a corolla and doing all the weird things its a mini and i want it different=-) as what mini claims not all mini are same=-) Ill post pics once its done .

What about the weight? How much more weight does the kit add?

I have seen that modified Cooper around Miami. The owner spent like $100K in mods! That car has the shape of a MINI but in reality, there is not much left of a MINI in it anymore....

Cant wait to see the results... we never know, maybe it will convince people (including me) that it does not look so bad.

good luck with the install, it looks like a tough one...

Amen

Yup, look forward to pics!

And I realize opinions were solicited, positive and negative. I'm just disappointed to see things flamed and ridiculed. Dissenting opinions can be made without derision. Guess it just didn't feel like 'constructive' criticism.

Hmm 19" huh? I miss the feel in the steering the Cooper S hardtop I drove had. Very direct, felt like rubber coated rims.

I've got 17" non run flats, and the handling is awesome but that level of 'directly connected' feel isn't the same. I realize my ride quality is much better, but...

I've wondered how much of that 'feel' is the stiff sidewall of the run flats and how much the fact that the sports plus suspension that the S comes with which was unavailable in the convert...

Yeah obviously it is public forum, and people will voice their opinion, but because it is a public forum, it does not give people the right to be jerks (no way am i impling that you are a jerk). There is a thin line between criticism and being a di(k, and i feel that people cross that line too many times just because it is public forum. There is no problem saying what you think as long s it is relevent to the question, I.E. he didnt ask if he should sell his cars and buy a lambo, he asking about lambo doors on a mini. Sorry hamann for writing this in your thread, and going off topic.

Yeah C4 the mini you are talking about from miami is this one, he has since then sold the car i think. And yeah it was kinda hard to get in and out of, the car weighs so much due to all the fibre glass, and speaker systems he has.

Do it, man! I personally think Lambo doors would look sick on a convertible, but i need my money somewhere else. You are obviousely in better position than I, so I say go for it.

do what you want! who cares what others say.... afterall it is your car.... what others say have no weight as long as you want to do it and have the financial backing!

personally, i do want to see it.... maybe difficult job, but it'd be awesome! especially if its a quality kit, not like the countless civics here with 300 dollar lambo kits

Lambo doors on a MINI are great if that's what you want. Just a note of caution-don't roll the car over and catch on fire as the doors won't open "up" if the car's sitting on it's roof. Now MINI doors on a Lambo! That might be something. As was said, stock MINIs are terrific! Modded MINIs are terrific! Get what you like; like what you get.
