Bingo! The idea is to get the air out to the sides, which in turn could create a suction effect behind them. Problem is that you are almost guaranteed to create a very unstable air mass behind them, and at some speed I'm guessing that it could destabilize the rear of the car.

... and that's where a proper diffuser (acknowledging that the pic I posted is of a purely asthetic attempt) would come into play

hmmm, I wonder if this one would fit?

Yes, that's a good point, however a diffusor can only do so much, and most of them need air to work.

You just added that pic, and I had a moment. heh

The long awaited Project Aero Wing 2...

Keep in mind...this is in primer and smaller than it appears in the photos...it is also without the wicker-bill so please don't come to any conclusions. Trust me, in person, it is very prominent...especially next to my factory Aero wing

I know...we need to work on Joel's photography skillslol:

Ooohhhh!!!

Very nice! Damn, now your really making me re-think how to spend the rest of my contigency money.

Though in this picture

It does seem like the front part of it bulges out from the roof line of the car. Maybe you can smooth it out so it follows the lines it attaches too a little better? Is there a reason why its like that maybe?

Otherwise VERY nice and i can't wait to see it at the Dragon.

Sid, it's a very nice piece of work, even given JS's photo skills.

It's making me grit my teeth when I look at my aero wing.

Aren't our brake lights on our spoiler? Does anybody know about the legality of replacing it with this?

The brake lights are built into the hatch itself. This wing is completely legal and looks like a winner . Nice job !

For those of you who have PW...here's Joels sharp Mini with a better perpective on the Aero Wing project...

Notice the greater size and angle of attack compared to my standard Aero wing...

The Aero Wing does look cool!
One comment/question for JS, sweet MINI! I have always been a fan of PW.
Are you going to paint the door handles black? and maybe a PW or black gas door? The chrome looks out of place on that car.

the spoiler looks totally wicked! any chance of a non-adjustable production model? the poor man's version?

i'd like to see carbon fiber and paint only the top side of it, leaving the underside just plain carbon fiber.

i've got a soft spot for partially painted CF.

Some good points. Will look into price difference. Will have to inquire with the fabricator. Sounds do-able.
Of course, each person could paint CF afterwards.

Had not gotten to that point yet. You're right, those chrome items do look out of place. Thanks for pointing it out. Hmmmm....maybe Black Chrome would look good. Anyone know of any B/C parts?

Thanks everyone for those nice comments. Much appreciated.
