Interior/Exterior Sleeper S Fuel Door?
Sleeper S Fuel Door?
Thanks for the input on the "factory shaved emblems" all. Ill have to look into that and see what I can swing, worse comes to worse Ill end up shaving them myself.
My next body mod Q is about the S fuel cap/ filler cap. Its Chrome-not to say that I hate chrome, but I prefer to be Blacked Out!
Anyway, Im wondering if anyone has attempted to put maybe a standard cooper fuel door on, or even a modified aftermarket one that sits flush with the body, (maybe even a "created" one from bare metal?)and would open with an interior lever.
Any ideas/ suggestions-input?? Any ideas would be great. Thanks!!

I have a cooper but im in the process of shaving off the little finger nub with a grinder, and i plan to weld in a plug followed by smoothing it out. You can easily slip a finger in to open it, and this will give a great smooth look
I suppose you could always trade for a MCS Convertible - THEY have the fuel door. . .

both doors are interchangeable, I put the S door on my MC
Here's a thought, I had mine powder coated black, you might like that.
Personally I don't care much for the chrome thing either (even with my Harleys) I tend to powder coat things, cheap easy and easy to clean.

It might be a little cheesy but has anyone thought about those "bumper plug" thingies that are painted. At least temporary?

I definitely do. I have debated having them filled when i get my hood repainted now that it has 3 years of rock chips accumulated on it.
I also though about bumper plugs....its certainly a possibility

just filling my mini fix for the night going through some old threads and I came across this one. Not sure if the latching mechanism would prevent it (I don't have mine yet) but what about a flat piece of metal and then mount a heavy duty magnetic cabinet door catch to it? One of the ones that you press in and it pops out 1/2 inch or so... then push it in again and it will be flush. I imagine with a little bit of work you could get it to work great and all it would have to do is pop out 1/2" so you can get your finger behind and pop it open.
when I'm at work I'll take a look through some hardware catalogs and see if I can point something out that would work.
