Exterior Black Trim

What does everyone use to renew their black trim on the exterior of the car? Not sure I want to spend a fortune for professional paint matching to the body.

The very best is Black Wow.
I used Back to Black for a short while and it doesn't hold a candle to this stuff. It only takes a sesame seed size dot of the stuff on an application pad to do a 2 or 3 foot section and I re-apply every 3 or 4 months if needed.

Its available on Amazon but they're showing at close to twice what Richard sells if for.

Pulled all of it off carefully, careful to not break clips, plastidipped it black, got a few new clips, put it back on!

~3hrs of work, $10!

Not gonna lie, I really wish I had heard of Black Wow though. Seems a tiny bit easier, haha.

Plasitdip peels off as I understand. Black Wow awaits if you change your mind.

Black Wow is a great product. I used it too until I had the trim painted body color. Good stuff, and like Brick said: a little bit goes a LONG way!

I've used Black Wow and it's ok but if you want the best use Aerospace 303. I put it on last year and went through a winter (snow-ice) and it's still as black as the day I put it on.
I use it on my tires also and same results.

I didnt feel like going out, so I tried using a tire shiner to darken my trim. It did a surprisingly good job and is still fairly dark. There are lots of different wanys to do it.

I like a two step approach. 1) Solution trim restorer (periodically to restore the black) and 2) 303 for routine maintenance.

Anybody tried having the trim painted black? From my understanding the main reason it fades so bad is because the exposed plastic reacts with UV light.

3M Scotch Super 33+ electrical tape. Got switched onto it here on NAM. Easy installation in less than 30 minutes, very durable and fits perfectly. Easy to maintain if needed and still looks new after 17 years. One can buy a 52 foot roll for about five bucks. A very cost effective means for a quality belt line trim black out.

I recently used Gtechniq C4 on the wheel arch trim and cowl vents. The results are very good. It's a coating, rather than a treatment, so it can last up to two years.
