so i just got a carbon fiber hood... and i noticed it didnt have any front latch on the hood like the oem one does to lock it donw... just wanted to know what ppl used for this type of situation

Usually (on MINIs anyway) the pins are mounted to the strut towers, and latches on the front bumper. If I remember correct the pins are welded on, but you could probably come up with a way to bolt them through the tower. You can somewhat make out the pins sticking up, and on the second photo you can see the holes in the hood.

 

i just orderd some AEROCATCH pins just need to find a good place to put them.....

 

You wouldn't want to put the pins so far back on the hood like the photos I provided unless you've got a latch also. If you did there would be a lot of upward force on them. Off the top of my head I'm not sure where you could mount them up front.

 

I dont know what hood you have but I have never heard of any of the carbon fiber hoods not having latches. Both my ViS hood have them....

 

lol well i guess i got it up my ***... they gave me some cheapo version.. not hsppy eith it at all....also dont really feel like sending it back and fourth and going through all the million emails..i'll make do
