GoMiniGo 3rd brake light pulsar install help/info

Ok, just trying to add small inexpensive mods to make my MiNi more unique for me. I purchased the GoMiniGo 3rd brake light pulsar chip (29$) and although I understand the gist of the two wire install, I am afraid of breaking off a piece of trim on my 2010 S. How do I remove the 3rd brake light housing without breaking the black trim?
I tried peeling it back, to get to the wiring but there is some resistance. Has anyone tried this on a 2010?
Do I have to remove the torx screws that hold the looped rope that lifts the black felt boot cover in back, when the boot is raised up - to get all the trim off or does the 3rd brake light trim come off without having to remove allot of other trim? Thanks for any assistance. Check out my pics too...let me know what you think of the FFWD?

I've not done a 2010, but have put one in a friends 07. Carefully pry up & the plastic trim will pop out. No screws or bolts hold it. Snaps in like a model car kit built without glue. I would suggest doing it in a warm place. Plastic gets brittle when cold.

I've got one on Maggie, Too and it was a bear getting in. Like you, I was worried about breaking the trim trying to get into the housing. I was successful and undamaged but not without serious worry and Intartubez surfing to ensure that I got the trim bits off but also installed the Pulsar correctly. I'll go out and look at Maggie's trim in a bit to be sure but I don't remember having to unbolt anything; just a lot of prying and pulling on plastic tabs.

Cheers!!

Looking at Maggie, I think that I did remove those torx bolts for the boot cover. Even so, there was still quite a bit of tugging and pulling but mainly worrying about breaking some of that plastic. Good luck!

Cheers!!

Stop before you break something and wait till morning and call GOMINIGO. Unless the 2010 is radically different from the 2009 you can put the module in the left tail light area. You don't have to remove the 3rd brakelight at all.

Anyone have good advice for installing the third brake light pulsar on a convertible. I got the light out as directed but had a hard time identifying the correct wires to splice in the unit. So I quit until I had better advice or directions.
