Marshall Update: They will build a MINI specific Oil Pressure gauge and volt meter gauge if I commit to 10 units of each gauge I request. I will require a commitment from perspective customers before I go ahead and these will not be part of the group buy. There will still be a good discount over MSRP which will be:

Oil Temp: $99.50 ea
Oil Temp with Peak Recall and Hi/Low Alarm: $129.50ea

Volts: $79.50ea
Volts with Peak Recall and Hi/Low Alarm: $109.50ea

You can still use the group buy e-mail address, gaugegb@blackoaks.com, to show your interest. Thanks.

Was there any decision on a stepper Boost gauge? (and did I completely miss out on the group buy?)
If the group buy is still open, I'll put in for a peak oil temp, stepper oil pressure and a stepper boost if they can be made.

I went from the electric boost/vac to the mechanical boost/vac and have no regrets much more responsive either way Marshalls makes a great gauge.

I wired up all three 12V+ wires and it looks just like factory. The white light I believe illuminates the back lighting and the amber on the needle or maybe opposite of that??

Anyways wiring is all done, now I have to purchase more vacuum line. The 3/16" I got is too big for the FPR.

Any tips on how to get the line back on the FPR? a little luck and small fingers??

Not a clue on getting that line back on. You might want to PM SRTech as he could tell you. I think he has forgotten more about the Mini then most sales people will ever know

Any chance on getting a definitive word from someone on the gauge lighting? There seems to be a split opinion in this thread as to whether the white and amber lighting is an either/or option from Marshall (with amber matching the OEM MINI gauges), or whether both lights are required to be connected simultaneously to match the OEM look.

I hate that location so I run an extension from the fpr so I can put the "tee" above the intake manifold. In your case, it's easiest to just remove the fuel rail and reattach the line.

I have five on order. One is sold which leaves four up for grabs. MSRP is $199.50 but I will have them at $129.50. I don't know the ETA yet. Thanks.

Steve,

Are the gauges still available? I sent an email yesterday but I haven't received acknowledgment or an invoice to pay. I also PMed you months ago expressing interest but did not receive a reply. I'm just wondering if my messages are somehow not getting to you.

Thanks.

Sorry, I'm just getting to my e-mail for yesterday. I'll send you a reply and add you to the oil temp list. Thanks.

Steve - thank you for the tip. I got 3/16" on last night, but it was too loose fitting. I will pick up some 5/32" tonight and see if that works out better.

I pulled the original line that went to the fpr up and between the intake runners and put the "T" right there. Im going to attempt to do the same thing tonight with the smaller hose.

Can I use any type of lubricant on the "T" ? I know moisture would be bad in there.

Making assumption (true?) that this lighting match is for an R53 since you're talking boost gauge in other posts.

Yes, R53 Boost gauge - matches the factory tachometer. The texts illuminates amber (backlit) and the needle glows orange. The needle isn't the same color as the factory needle w/o lighting to begin with, but most people wouldnt notice.

Everything is wrapped up... just need to put the parcel shelf back on. I will most likely need an extension for my garmin mount too. about the bottom right 1/8th is blocked by the steering wheel. Not sure how I feel about the GPS there :-| mixed emotions.

Anyone use a widescreen nuvi and have a recommendation on which extension to use?

drove the car today. I get -20 on the vacuum side and right about +14 on the boost side. This is with a 16% pulley and a big valve head. Most of my daily driving style keeps it at vacuum or 0.

Also, when you hit the rev limiter it cuts boost - that is a pretty cool little FYI

Correct me if I am wrong, but since the FPR and BPV are both vacuum operated, I would think that they are both cut.
