Fingershooter, do you have a side shot of the installation?

Anyone has pictures of the same gauges, on a Gen 2 car?

Thanks :-)

MyroMini,

I had the Marshall guages installed by SRTech on my R56. Because my interior was piano black I had the black rings installed and used the A pilar mount and cups. Here is a distance shot the new guages look great so good that I keep thinking about changing out mine for the new Mini look. More pictures in my gallery of the guages.

I would be happy to take some pictures, what angle were you looking for?

congrats on getting the first set, they look amazing ! If Paul had managed to get the pointers orange, I'm sure even the dealer wouldn't be able to tell they aren't factory.
If anyone with an R56 gets theirs (before me), I hope they'll post up some pictures (with the silver rings).

The newly released factory aux gauges are a joke, they don't come close to matching the rest of the instrumentation. I'm just hovering over the phone waiting for Steve to say my order's ready to ship.

Where do we stand?

Steve,
Where do we stand in regards to our orders given to you over the last few months? I supplied you with a PM and information of what I wanted.
The "Boost" gauge is "mechanical" and makes no mention of being the "Stepper" gauge the thread talked about.
So here are my questions:
What happened to all our orders?
Is the "Boost" gauge one of the gauges we have been waiting for?(Stepper)
What do we do from here so we don't slip through the cracks?

I was wondering the same thing. Steve said that he would have a form available once he got the final model numbers. I was waiting for that since I figured he wouldn't want a bunch more PMs overlapping what has already been sent. I know that my order has changed slightly since the original announcement and now what is actually in production.

Steve - Are you still working on the order form? What do you want us to do?

Cheers,
Tom

UPDATED: OK, so I didn't realize that Steve's posts had been edited a while back with the ordering instructions. They're no longer in date order, so I never saw them. Here's the link to the specific ordering post: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...366-post6.html

I'll try to keep this on the current page of this thread.

Group Buy Prices:

Vac/Boost, 30" Hg - 30 PSI (mechanical) $47.50

Oil pressure, 0-100 PSI (electric) $59.50

Oil pressure, 0-100 PSI (stepper) $83.50

Water temperature, 100-260°F (electric) $53.50

Water temperature, 100-260°F (stepper) $77.50

Oil pressure and water temperature gauges include the sending unit with 1/8" NPT connection.

Stepper motor gauges have peak recall and warning functions.

Shipping is $10 in the lower 48 states. Hawaii, Alaska and non-USA destinations will be determined individually.

The CravenSpeed mounting and adapters are going to be 10% off list price for this group buy. If you have any other CravenSpeed requests, I will offer 10% off those items during this group buy. Anyone with existing CravenSpeed mounts should be aware that the new mounts are powder coated instead of anodized so they won't match perfectly. I still have a few anodized pieces in stock so let me know.

Gauge Cup (52mm) gen1 and gen2 $49.00
Gauge Cup (dual 52mm) gen1 and gen2 $71.00
Bracket X (gen1) tach mount for cups $30.00
Bracket ZL (gen1) cup mount for chrono/nav $40.00
Bracket ZR (gen1) cup mount for chrono/nav $40.00
Bracket A (gen2) cup mount $45.00
Bracket R (gen2) single cup mount $40.00
Cup Caps (52mm) caps for back of cups $26.00
Tapless Adapter (gen1) oil pressure adapter $44.00
Tapless Adapter (gen2) oil pressure adapter $67.00
Hot Link (gen2) water temp adapter $54.00
PSIClone (gen2) vac/boost adapter $35.00

Please e-mail your billing and shipping addresses to gaugegb@blackoaks.com. Be sure to include your phone number and the gauges and mountings you want to buy. I will e-mail you an invoice for you to OK and then you can call me or vice-versa for the CC info. Some have e-mailed me the CC info which is OK if you are comfortable with that. I do not bill until I ship. I have not received the gauges yet so I expect to start shipping next week. You can call me if you have questions at 559.320.0004 Thanks.

Steve,
You haven't bothered to anwser our questions.
I take it "NO" for a boost stepper gauge?
If so, very disappointed after so long a wait.
It's not shoot the messenger, just being strung along for all these months leaves a bad after taste.

I have had an electric non stepper gauge installed for sometime now. I would have liked in a way to have a stepper gauge for the boost vac however decided that a direct manual gauge was a better solution for me. These gauges are very well designed and for the price your not going to find a better looking gauge. I looked back thru the posting and see several options and answers provided and when I first looked at Marshall gauges they were just getting ready to install stepper gauges and now thanks to SRTech not only do they have a stepper gauge but a gauge that is designed for the Mini. Lots of options are available for those of us that want gauges and just like the gauges SRTech worked on getting a great mount solution that puts it below our R56 steering wheel where the gauges are functional to use.

So why don't you call Marshall and complain to them? SRTech is not the manufacturer, only the distributor.

My intent was not to shot the messenger, but since SRTech was taking orders and followups I was under the impression he was doing business requests for "Mini Owners".
As a "Seller" he did take responceability to provide what was offered/ordered.
I will not hesitate to contact Marshall to voice my opinion, but since I would be paying SRTech, it is his responceability to server the customer.
That's business.

Paul at Marshall has said no to the stepper and electric versions of the MINI vac/boost gauge at this time. If enough people want them, it might be a possibility in the future. But there would have to be commitment to actually buying them. The original poster was under the impression that Marshall was very near production, but if you've ever manufactured anything, you know how long it actually takes. I didn't get the final list of what was going to be available until a short time ago myself and had to make a bunch of calls to get the definitive word. I bought 95 gauges for this group buy and an even larger order to CravenSpeed. I expect that only 50% of those interested in this group buy will actually buy. If that is the case, I will come out even and be happy as a clam. I sell a lot of CravenSpeed, normally, so I will have more stock which won't disappoint me. And I'm sure I will sell all the gauges in time. I thank all of you who have been very supportive and patient and you are the ones I'm doing this for. Thanks.

Steve

You can't get any MINI spec oil temp. gauge at this time. And no to the MINI spec voltmeter gauge at this time, also. If everybody who wants something that is not being produced buy Marshall, please e-mail me at the gaugegb@blackoaks.com address and I will collect the requests for Marshall in an attempt to get it produced. Check out their website: http://www.marshallinstruments.com/c...erformance.cfm to see what they produce in other gauges. They are not going to produce anything for MINI that they don't already produce for something else unless there is a great demand for it.

CravenSpeed Update: The Bracket A for the Gen2 cars (07+) is at the powder coater still. We caught CravenSpeed in their switchover from anodizing to powder coating and that is the last part to be done. It should be done by next week. I will update with an ETA when I get one. Also, the cup caps fit tightly in the gauge cups now so no need to glue them like the previous version.

Additional CravenSpeed Update: The Cup Caps are not going to fit with these gauges without modification. The Marshall water temp gauge goes to the end of the gauge cup leaving no room for the cap. The other gauges have a little more room but you would have to cut the part of the cap that inserts into the gauge cup or not insert the cap all the way. They should fit on the vac/boost gauge.

Update: 21 gauges shipped so far. CravenSpeed Bracket-A mounts,Dual 52mm cups and Cup Caps will be in on Monday. If you just want gauges or have an R53 and don't want Cup Caps, I can ship today. People don't seem to be afraid of modding the Cup Caps so I've shipped all I had in stock. Thanks.

Can't wait to see pictures of these in 2nd Gen cars. My dealer today mentioned installing the factory boost and water temp gauges for $800.
