I got these because my 4-year-old son loves all things checkered-flag, which he calls "race car".

Since I got my MCS, my kids delight in spotting others on the road. And my son always adds, "it doesn't have race-car mirrors!"

Am I literally the only one in the world who has these?

PS Yes, the rear-view mirror also has the checkered flag design.

 

You might be a dork if it was any other car....but on a MINI is looks great!!

I put them on my wife's '08 MCS. She also wants the sun roof, the rear view mirror inside, the door and boot sill in Checks. For Mother's Day she is getting a Mini Checked pocketbook (Actually it is webbed seatbelts!!)

 

I was tempted to get the roof decal in checkered-flag also, but since my car has the moon roof, the decal was pretty small.

My wife was appalled by the whole thing, but at my age (41), who cares; it's my car!

And naturally, it's not really my car. I get to drive it to work, but whenever I"m home, the wife drives it. "For the good mileage; just trying to be green."

It's probably a good thing that I didn't know I could order checkered bonnet stripes...

 

I'm considering slapping checkered mirror caps on mine - the chrome caps I have now are very nice, but I'd like a little visual pop on the front aside from the stripes.

I love the checkers.

If that officially makes me a dork, then it just affirms what I've suspected for many years.

 

May I suggest a checkered roof? It would look great and tie it altogether. Dorkdom is reserved for other "less-enlightened" drivers than those who own MINIs! I won't name names ....

 

Just before I bought my MCS I went to a "rally" at the Scottsdale dealership a year ago, mostly R53s of course. There was more checkered stuff than you could shake a stick at. You name it, it was there. I'd say you're not alone!

 

This Mini is THEFT PROOF!

 

Getting Checkered Mirrors, inside and out, checkered door handles, checker interior surfaces, checker fabric. I couldn't do the checkered floor mats. The white would just look like c*(& after a short while. And custom artwork will be forthcoming with, you guessed it, lots of checkers.

I'm gonna get speeding tickets sitting still.

Why, thank you, Steve ! I had so much fun modding the exterior and interior, now I'm working on some performance mods for that Just-a-Cooper.

 

I love the checkerboard theme. One of my favorites.

I am getting a custom dash and door rings right now all done in checkerboard to bring the theme inside the car. Sucks being without inside doors at the moment.

I also brought the checkerboard to my scooter!
