does anybody's checkered mirror cap stick out on top? The black ones I originally have did not...

other than that, it is pretty fancy!

 

Yes, mine have been on for about 2 weeks, and they do stick up slightly on the top, but they do look awesome and are very secure!

I also have the rear view mirror cover, which my hubby had to cut out a notch to fit over the garage opener buttons. The checkered pattern compliments my club mans beautiful Horizon Blue body color and black bonnet stripes, and black roof!

If this is corky, then I am proud to be a dork!

Long story, but my MA accidentally ordered my dash in the black checkered pattern. He was bummed out -- but it actually turned out terrific. A nice detail against polar beige interior.

I was stressing about Union Jack mirror caps. Apparently, I didn't go far enough....

 

Thanks... loooooooved that MINI and miss it a lot. Thinking of buying a first Gen Chili Red MINI for my son. Wonder if he'll be OK if I checker it up.

True. I'm actually going to buy him about half a car. Going to set it up for small payments, going to make those payments for two years. Then, when he graduates from high school and follows his dream of an Air Force career, he takes the MINI and finishes paying it off. Want him to learn to drive a stick. Want to do something for him. But don't want to pay for the whole car because he might not take care of it if he has no financial interest in it.

I love it!!! Great minds think a like. My Dad used to drag race, so checkered flags were for me. My husband wasn't so hot on it originally, thought it would look like a clown car, now he loves it. I told him I am going to get a graphic for my back window that reads" Yes you were just passed by a woman in her clown car!" Can't wait to add some additional mods with the checkers.Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank all of you for the pictures. I just bought a 2011 and was seriously considering the checkered theme too. Now that I've seen it, I'm alllll innnnnn. Besides if you wanted a boring car, you bought the wrong kind...lol

I'm a Wee bit partial to the Checkered look. A nod to Mini's racing history..

 

Hmmmm... you're going to test my memory on that one. I believe those came from Aesthetic Creations. I put one of the owner's (Mike) kids through college modding my CR Cooper.

 

I always know when someone is a MINI enthusiast when I pass them if they have checkered mirrors- they always wave!

 

I'll google it, this may sound rednecky but has anyone tried duct tape for the inside door or dash? I just found some great blue and red checkerboard duct tape and am curious if it would work or look cheap.
