Am I the only only who is still getting checkerboard stuff for their MINIs? I just got some new side scuttles!

 

I ordered a bunch of stuff about 2 weeks ago, all checkerboard. It arrived yesterday, too bad El Kabong was totaled 6 days ago .
I'm about to order an '11 MCS, but don't think I'll do the whole checkerboard thing this time, it seems disloyal. But I was thinking of putting checkerboard valve covers and maybe on the license plate in honor of El Kabong.

I got the checkered mirror covers in May 07 for Chessie. I haven't requested them yet for my CM, but probably will. Everybody loves them!!

 

just saw one with them today i was going to take a picture but then the person was in the car so it would of been kind of awkward haha

 

My bday is coming up, I'm asking for checkered sides to go with my rearview

The checkerboard look may go even further at my house. We are in the midst of cleaning up and reorganizing the garage so that we can lay a racedeck floor (checkerboard, of course). I have gotten some paint samples also, and I am thinking of painting one of the walls red for an accent. I think that a checkerboard floor and red accent wall would be the coolest garage makeover for my MINI . . . if we go with that, I will definitely post pics when we are done.

Hiya Massive Lemon! Was beginning to think I was the only Mini in the Westminster area. I live in your backyard in New Windsor, and look forward to seeing you and your Mini on the road. (Im a waver) Had my Horizon Blue Clubman for 3 weeks now and am also considering some checkered accents! Just looking around for good pricing on them! Happy Mini-Motoring!!

Here are a few pics of our garage we redid a few years ago. Did a partial checkerboard floor, and a checkerboard border, walls are British Racing Green.

 

i know this is the 2nd gen forum and i have an 05 mcs, but i have the checkered flag mirrors and feel, that with the red, they embody the racing history of the car (picture in my signature - car no longer has deck strips or the cooper decal along the door and all the chrome has been blacked out). i have been thinking lately about swapping them out for yellow (i eventually want to paint the calipers yellow) - yellow and red just screams race car in my opinion.

 

Simply awesome. And so clean and organized!

I am British Racing Green with envy.

 

mach schnell: I agree that red and yellow would be very cool-totally in spirit with the racing heritage of the MINI.

and BoCRon, thanks for the pics of your garage-it looks really nice. We are considering something very similar. 3 of the 4 walls will be a glossy or semi-gloss white, but for the rear wall, we are thinking color blocking--black on bottom, red on top, and a checkerboard stripe in the middle. The floor will probably end up being black and white racedeck tiles in a checkerboard pattern.

 

we finished laying the racedeck tiles! we also went with an all red accent wall instead of color blocking. I really like it. I think the red really pops against the white side walls and black and gray checkerboard floor.
