Nah it is a degreaser, crud remover. So no reason to be worried. 3M also makes something similar as well.

You should be able to find it (as well as some advice) at your local higher end auto parts stores.

Thanks!

Awesome that looks great!

So what did you think of the mod? Once you get past ur guts for opening it up, it seems to go really smooth and easier than a lot of mods. Have you seen if that spot that got rubbed off affected the light projection yet? I'm sure it wouldn't really be noticable

Thanks. It was pretty easy and straight forward once you get into it. The one thing I wish you didn't have to worry about is cleaning the reflecting portion. I'm really bummed that I have some residue and have that one portion where I rubbed through the reflecting finish. Oh well. I guess I'll just live with it for now. That portion does suck up the light, so it looks a little weird, but oh well. Maybe I'll buy a new driver's side headlight. Any idea how much just one halogen headlight would cost me?

i really want to do this mod, but i wanted to be different and color match my lights versus black. has anyone done this, if so any pics? i was wondering how well the paint will stay up. i was going to buy LBM paint in aerosol form and do it in a way similar to a F430 or a new Z06 look. any opinions? thanks

only thing imo thats gonna be an issue is your chrome surroundings... i guess you can vinyl wrap that or however... i think you should play with photoshop...

majority of the joey mods look like lotus elises to me!

i think there is just TOO MUCH YELLOW on the z06.

as for the F430, i think the anthracite/gunmetal color of the headlights really set it off. i think thats what a lot of the NAMers are trying to accomplish.

Yep, that should do it. I really should have just included that info in this thread. But then again, the search function is your friend.

It looks really good if you ask me. This is the only Mini I have seen done this way.

Just completed the joey mod on my MINI. I decided to do colormatch vs the black that is popular with this mod. It wasn't too hard just the paint from MINI liked to run. Enjoy!

it cost me 13 euro which is about $20. it comes as a kit with clear coat. they are very small cans so i had to use sparingly. minspeed.net has them in regular size cans but they wouldn't ship to germany.

WOW!! That looks sooo good and I love the way the chrome separates it. I'm usually not a fan of chrome (obvious from my car ), but yours looks amazing with it, especially how it offsets with your new joey.
Good job

NICE JOB! Reminds me a bit of the C6 Corvettes that now color match the inside.

Looks great! Thanks for sharing!

That sums it up nicely. I think that if your plan is to keep the chrome, then this is a good approach to the joey mod.

thanks everyone for your comments. i am very pleased with the way it turned out plus your opinions helped out too! it was a very inexpensive mod and also with the lack of vinyl needed to cover all my chrome trim; it saved me alot on my wallet. i hope this helped to get more in the joey mod game! thanks again

Wow that looks amazing in laser blue!

I've seen it done in Chili Red and I feel like it makes it look cheap, but Laser Blue really looks nice!

Looks nice jt. I was thinking of doing the same but I am scared that it will look too much like the vettes posted earlier.

Still undecided. . .

Clear lenses

I'm not interested in the Joey mod but the orange turn signal lens was bugging me. Since you can't buy the lens I made my own.

First try:

Second (or 6th try), getting better:
