Wide fender flares

anyone know if someone makes fender flares that are wider than stock and in the same black plastic finish as the stock flares. i'm looking for something 1-2" wider so i can put some wider tires on my ride with a deeper lip

Not much out there that doesn't include full new sideskirts and bumpers as well.....and they are generally crazy styled bodykits.

MHW makes wider arches for the Cooper....but they dont fit the CooperS. They're also molded smooth and white....not the stock textured plastic.

I always thought a company should make texture replacements....but the vendors never showed interest

It would be cool. I recently saw this pic on motoringfile, it's one of Frank Stephenson's concept drawings from 1998 for the MINI. I would love some flares like that.

That is pretty wild, not my style, but what the hey. The back is cool, but the front looks unfinished.

Woah!! That's awesome!

Orciari wide body kit molded in. But he did more frabrication and filled in some of the lines in the front airdam. He also eliminated the side grills. THAT IS NICE!!! A lot of work went into it.

Did your mate fabricate new side panels or just filled in the flares? Also the running boards come over the flares vs the flares comming over the running boards as it would be on the kit.

Do you have any more pics?

I have the Orciari wide body on my Cabrio but didn't mold it in just in case I got in an accident. I wanted to be able to replace it easily.

I really like what he did. It's a bit deceiving due to the black "painted" arches. At first look, you don't think is a wide body.

I'm guessing he's running spacer on them wheels. Right? He needs to shave the door handles since he shaved almost everything else.

Some people might not like it, but I have to give it to him, he put a lot of work into it and it shows and that alone gets .

I would KILL to have this with the OEM front and rear bumpers. All molded in, perfect sleeper.

Maybe even the OEM rear with a HAMANN(M3 style) front bumper (Drool) I have always liked their front end.

Any info on what size wheels/tires this kit fits?
Also, where did your friend buy this? I want the fenders and sills only.

It's not really a kit....it's the widebody version of the kit that he then further widened with custom bodywork (that looks a bit bulbous IMHO). It's not just a kit you could buy.

With the right offsets....I'm sure he could fit 11 inch wide wheels under there......but your bearings would probably fail instantly.

So, what did he use to "start" this project with? Is it Orciari? And could you elaborate a little on how it came to life?

The shape is so organic, it just blows me away. Even the monochromatic treatment of the Union Jack (if I am interpreting it correctly) is super cool and original. No part looks remotely "bolted-on". Though it has some "flavor" of the Orciari, it has left the plain kit way back in the dust.

While I would like to have one, it is so cool to think that it is a "one-off" item, that I think that is the best way for it to stay. If I ever seriously entertained the thought of doing anything similar (which is doubtful, due to the crazy $$ involved) it would have to be significantly different somehow, so as not to impinge on this guy's beautifully executed and singularly spectacular vision.

Chris -- Didn't mean to dissuade you from taking on such a project or from using same techniques, materials, kit, etc. used to produce the beauty in the photos. Nor do I intend to dissuade Coen from giving all the information you might use -- and then some. From a purely selfish point of view, the more beautiful works running around on the streets, the more I like it. And I hope that you realize your dream of a phat MINI on WIIIIIDE tires. DO IT!!

Coen -- Throw Chris a bone, will you, while we're still young?

I agree.....but at the same time, a bodykit that wide should be running something wider than 9 inches. People run 9 inchers on stock MINI's

Yes, 10's or 11's are a must for me. For me its all turbo and not enough wheel to fit unless I get this(my solution was finally found in this thread). For the turbo, its happening, but slowly.
