upcoming JOEY MOD

hey everyone im going to thaek the plunge since ive finally grown some and decided to tackle the joey mod this weekend. im taking hte dremel route and hopefully come end of weekend ill still have headlights lol ........anywho to the point. does anyone have any tips....im wondering what type of seal i should use to close the lenses back up ....also anyone suggest a spray i should use for the housing ...im thinking about going with a satin black should i get something heat resistant?....any tips will be greatly appreciated.

I've toyed with the idea of doing it to my PW... I've got some friends who've successfully done it to their Camaro and WRX with good results.

Use a hi-temp paint, clean and scuff the surface to be painted, and reseal with silicone (if you can't reheat the factory sealant). Otherwise, look up the Joey mod (search) for instructions as to how others have done it here.

Please post pictures of the steps you take, as that will surely push me towards doing it myself.

in the near future im gonna do my pw too. i want it pw not black. and like Dan00Hawk says. posts pics of your own how to. so we can see how "easy" it is.

goodluck!! why couldnt mini's just come out with painted headlights..looks so much sexier. sigh..

will do im gonna start tackling the mod saturday morning so hopefully by end of weekend ill have the EDDIE MOD picture tutorial =) ...i like the name eddie better than joey so for my own sake im renaming it since im going on general know how as far as what to do to defeat the mod ill def post my how to asap though

Good luck man. I have been toying with the idea as well, but can't bring myself to bake my lights yet. So I am curious to see how the dremel method works out.

yeah i think the baking aspect is what scares me and probally many others as well ...soooo since i dont have xenons i figure worst case senario i buy two new heads ....buttt still that would BLOW ....but yeah im going to take tons of pics so that hopefully ill help spread the know how for this scary mod

dremel is even scarier.
i'd go with baking. but then again. only reason why im scared to do mine is cause i have xenons..cost way too much to replace..
posts lots of pics in a new thread.
can't wait to see them.
