How To DIY: Home Depot front lip
I think it should also, but with the R56 bumper, if you go too far to the sides, the bottom flat part for tape/screws starts to smooth out into the fender trim...so if you were to put a screw in on the sides, you would definitely see it from a far making the job look tacky. I just cut mine so it blended into the bumper instead of a sharp edge.
Also, maybe mine have too much slack between each screw so it has a wavy look to it. Maybe my eye is the only eye that REALLY catches all the waves. (P.P.P.P.S. pictures coming soon...haven't had the time lately).
I also noticed since my car is only two weeks old, the black plastic/vinyl lining around the car has a conditioner/oil on it preventing the double sided adhesive to work. After a few washes I should be able to put on the garage see cleaner...
ok.. i did not know it was a big differrnce on bumper..
btw, well done and are u going to do the rear bumper?
i did not used any screw on my bumper..i only used 3M extreme outdoor double sided side and it has not came off in the rain..

If you mean me, no I am not doing the rear bumper
Nice .............
GREAT JOB! A + + + + and Good for curbs too !
Some years ago before most of this stuff was available, I made flex side skirts and extension for my Kamei air dam from rubber sheets bought at a True Value Hardware store.
But now your MINI gonna have a tendency to lower it's front lip when you hit the garage door opener/closer.......

finally some pictures of the finished product...clean and conservative, keepin' it classy in Portland. Keepin' it real classy.
(Notice the waves in the front-on shot...may be just the lighting made it particularly worse. Will improve next time. I promise...)

looks goood... well done..
i keep a extra set in case i need it
Just finished putting one on my "S" the other day. Not to difficult. Just was hard to get of the ends to stick with the tape. I may half to put a another screw in to hold it up. Looks great otherwise. One person already noticed it yesterday. I will post pics soon.
Actually, after the mod I held up a bit of lefovers by the wheel well. It would definitely make it appear lowered, but I just don't think it would look right and probably start to look a little ricey by making the body bulkier and basically just ground affects. But thats just my opinion, to each their own so give it a try and get some pics up
I'm also curious, but I definitely agree. I just think it would look tacky. The angle of the lip wouldn't look right. I'm debating doing it on the back, but that angle is the only preventing factor. Anyone done this mod to the backside with an R56 with photos?
i did my rear bumper but mine a 2005
Good stuff you're all probably right. I just wish things were cheaper lol... I used to be big into the import scene and I know you've all seen the ricers on the road but damn at least they're rare in the MINI world. The "Mustache" Mod looks great and props to you all who've made it work so well.

That really ties the room together.
Used pop rivets w/washers and 3M tape. Sealed the ends with black silicone adheasive...
