does that ' xB ' get that mileage???????????

U' dont have to use high grade all the time! (im not recommending it)

so if its really to high in price$$ at the tank, then use regular.. it wont hurt....

the xb gets much better mileage (30-34mpg) i would be happy even if I got 20mpg and was able to use non-premium gas.

my MA told me when i bought the MINI that i didn't have to use premium gas...but when I did use a lower grade, my MINI started pinging. so i've bought only premium from that point on.

wow thats a bit serious!!

i've yet to try it & i've had my mincuup for 2yrs..i was told the same thing but he also went on to tell me that the system in the mini will handle it if u do it once a month w/high grade.
i think it would matter more on how much u drive
but yea that sux that gas willb even higher very soon here!!!!!

gas sippers

The echo gets like 35 to 40mpg. Sure it's ugly but it gets as good gas mileage as a hybrid. 2 or 3 of my co-workers have em. How many mpg does the Cooper regular get? My co-worker claims to have gotten 25mpg solid on his MCS and he said he drives like a maniac. Is that so MCS drivers?

You guys in Hawaii think you have high prices? What about California? We've been paying over $3.00/gallon for 91 octane for a month already and nobody is talking about a cap for us. I've paid $3.09 the last too times I've filled up and this weekend is really going to be bad.

Wow only 17 mpg in Hawaii with a mini, how come such bad mileage? I have a '05-S and get 26 to 30 mpg in hilly Ohio and drive with spirit not like a maniac. My '97 Merc Grand Marquis gets 20 mpg in town and 25 on the highway and that's with a V-8 on regular gas. But the Mini is sooo much more fun to drive!
I have been to Hawaii many times, love it there...the truth is in Hawaii, all the islands, even the Big Island, you really never get a chance to drive the mini at highway speeds very much.

gas cap bad - Road Warrior imminent

--The gas cap has actually affected us even more negatively than the previous situation. Now retailers are paying $2.76 a gallon to the refineries. When they set this price cap the governor wrote a letter to the two refineries here and told them, they don't NEED to raise their prices to the maximum allowable price.

I'm sure the refinery executive staff had a really good laugh in the board meeting with that letter before they jacked up our gas prices to the max.

I drove down Kapahulu last night and it was at $3.20 for premium.

The problem with our gas situation is that they are setting the Hawaii retail gas prices based on the gulf coast and new york. Currently the two highest gas price locations in the nation. So even when California is 50 cents lower and dropping, we never see a decrease. When the rest of the country is lowering their gas prices Hawaii just settles down and doesn't increase their prices for a little while.

I'm beginning to think the state or federal government should take over the fuel production in the Hawaiian islands seeing as it IS a monopoly of which they ARE using to exploit us. I mean where ELSE are we gonna go for gas?

If this gets any worse I'm thinking of mounting a crossbow in front of my sunroof and going Road Warrior on the next gas tanker that crosses my path. BTW anyone know of any mohawked crazed Australians who enjoy attacking fuel trucks? I'll pay them with petrol.

People complain about price of gas in Hawaii but I bet none of you aware of how much the state taxes are per gallon of gas? And politicians are corrupt thinking they can win a vote by introducing the gas cap law. With the law in place anybody knows if its going to work..... Big N_O__P. :impatient
How about putting a price cap on water? A gallon of water cost more than gas and gallon of milk>>>>>>>>

fight back! Don't pay taxes.....

--I think it's like 50cents right? Maybe a little more. If we didn't have that tax we'd be in the $2.60 to $2.80 range. Bummer.. See if the government ran the gas industry themselves they'd find a way not to pay that tax and then the gas would be lower for us too. If you want rich people to get you a discount, find a way for them to get it too. It's funny how things like that work.

nah, i didn't get the raw deal...it just happens that my MINI doesn't like the daily route that I drive. I know it is possible to get more mpg, cause i once filled the tank up, and my friend and I drove around the island until I ran out of gas, and I remember getting about 25mpg that day. So it is possible, but not with the extreme driving conditions I put my MINI through.

Works for some people...just not for me!

can't wait to get my bB, though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
