Agree also. Camile I think has more of a package than that other goofy guy. It amazes me how he's survived.

BTW, just recovering off of crash of my desktop and (work) laptop. Bachi for posting early results. :???:

George, LaToya, Fantasia and Diana did very well tonight. Jasmine was getting back in the groove as Motown songs show off her powerful voice and her range. Jennifer did well tonight also.

Sad to say, Camille did not fair very well tonight along with JPL, RedHead and Amy Adams. Hopefully, Camille survives another week as Simon said. I think RedHead will be the odd man out tomorrow.

Indeed, George (gaining each week despite being one of four wildcards), Fantasia and Diana made the cut, However voting was done by the fans and Jennifer and LaToya were in the bottom three! Go figure. I thought they sang well but that isn't enough to survive.

>>Sad to say, Camille did not fair very well tonight along with JPL, RedHead and Amy Adams. Hopefully, Camille survives another week as Simon said. I think RedHead will be the odd man out tomorrow.

Camile, JPL, John Stevens and Jasmine all made the cut. Amy Adams appeared on her last show but took it in stride.
I thought she sang well but she was the 2nd of the wildcards to fall. That's too bad. Now we are done to the final 10.
Looks like a strong performance isn't as strong as it seems. Image Image Image. It's like politics.

I think as long as they each give it their best and do a good job then that is great and survive or not, the TV exposure will help them. Good luck to all ten. Go Camile and Jasmine.

The Hawaii vote was down to under 1 million (verizon numbers only and doesn't include AT&T or text messages) but still ranked 3rd highest being only beat by NY and NJ. 20 million votes were tallied across the nation. Nice showing Hawaii! Broke those phones!

Very interesting turn of events last night.

Clearly this is not a pure song contest.

I would venture to guess that JPL and JS are popular with the females.
George is as well but at least he is gaining momentum and confidence.

I wonder how much is related to people wanting to see more of a contestant?
Naturally if you thought they did great then they deserve to return but if they didn't do quite as well or played safe then you never really know how good they could be.

Then there is the fact that the songs are all really short like a minute plus change and it's hard to find a song that shows what you can do in so quick a time.

Beats me why LaToya was near the bottom in votes, come on folks. Don't you recognize talent? Maybe folks had blisters on their fingers from calling so much.

Just get a dial tone then hit the redial.

The only time I've seen it was during the first season while working out and it was on TV in the gym.

10 contestants are left. Tune in next tuesday if you want to see them sing and vote that night.
Check the results the next day. See if you can pick 5 out of the top 7.
It's not always easy to pick who will do well.

If you ask me, it should be the top five that goes on tour, not the top ten.

Yes top five might be a good show. If they could bring back Amy (pink hair) Adams and Matt (footballman) Rogers they'd be better than Pencilman and SinatraJr.

Maybe have Will Hung as special guest!!!

Amy Adams (pink hair) and Matt Rogers (Big Guy) are definitely much better than JPL and the redhead. I have no idea how the redhead has lasted so long. As I have said before, he has a monotone voice that is good at Sinatra, Bennett ..., but hedoes not have the range for other songs. Penman (JPL) has charisma, but his singing is off pitch and he really can't dance. At least her tries.

Will Hung's CD is out and if you go to his site, there are samples of the songs. All I can say is the studio engineers can only do so much.

Imagine if they had "rap idol" and Will auditioned! Maybe 10 years from now Fox will spin that out for a new show. The current younger generation can then wax nostalgically about their favorite "oldie" rap stars.

How 'bout "punk idol"?

Yes, the younger generation does wax nostalgically about rappers like Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Grandmaster Flash. To them it was like ancient history. For me, I lived through it! Man they make me feel old. I should talk to some of them young-uns about 8 track tapes.

As for AI, I'd say Camille is gone this week.

Both Jasmine and Camile were at the bottom this week. Too bad, I didn't think Jasmine belonged there.
Both sang tonight and did a decent job. I would have liked to see Camile have a good week but she ran out of chances.
I do think there are other contestants that are equally deserving of getting cut very soon.

From reading articles about AI in our newspaper it was a thrill for all the contestants to meet and do some practice with Elton John. Pretty cool, he's such an icon. A hit maker for over 30 years and going strong. His songs are not the easiest to sing.

Here's to the final 9, now minus Camile

Have you ever wondered if the votes are really on the up and up? Isn't it interesting how Simon has made a couple of predictions this season and they have come true? Could this be a coincidence or is Simon that good?

This is a valid point.

Lets say the bottom three this week are Jasmine, Diana and Camile in that order.
The producers can put either Jasmine or Diana back to safety but they may choose one or the other if they feel it might help the ratings.

Do the judges know something we do not? Do their predictions come true? Are the votes on the up and up?
I don't know, but this is big entertainment business and big ratings which means big advertising dollars are being spent. The AI folks want to keep the viewership up and not have people loose interest.

I would say that Simon does know what he is talking about. But usually he has no tact. Mr. Blunt

On the radio they were saying that the "fine print" (not sure where this is) states that the producers have the right to change the outcome of the results. Gotta be though right? Otherwise how can 'Ula'Ula last this long - the voters aren't that stupid.

I think Simon is good, but not that good. IMHO, people are just too easily influenced. `ula`ula (dakinemini, you make me proud) should have gone before Camile....again, just my opinion.

keiki,

I agree. I don't buy that people (the voters) really dig `ula`ula (Jenna taught me that. She learned it from the Hawaiian studies kupuna that comes to their class.) because of his style `ula`ula (dakinemini, you make me proud) should have gone before Camile....again, just my opinion.
