Wise man say, love me tender, love me sweet, you ain't nuthin but a hound dog.
I can sing, but I can't dance. Well, if you guys call whatever JPLs does, dancing, you can call me Denney Terrio.

"Thanks for voting for contestant number 6, tune in tomorrow for the results on AI".
Hawaii voted a record 3.8 million according to Verizon which is much better than the week before at 1.4 million and it made a difference keeping Jasmine out of the cellar.
This week the final 7 are spending time with Barry Manilow. Yeeeeeeehaaaaaaa! as the Costco lady would say.
The newspaper said JPL did a good relaxed performance in his final showing on AI.

I read in the paper today that the WB will be starting a new show that brings in all types of singers and kicks out the good ones and keeps the crap. Catch is the crap singers don't know they are being kept because they are bad. The joke is on them. Judges have to keep a straight face and praise them just like they do on AI. And rip the good ones like they suck. This should be alot better then AI cause its old now and time to move on to something new.

OMG
That's evil
Uhhhh... errr... I mean, that's damn funny!
Somehow I think Simon must be involved with this...I'll have to watch thru the credits to see if one of his pseudonyms is listed.

minihune - I thought you were kidding about Barry Manilow songs on AI. This genre is one that is tailor made for Jon Stevens so he should do well. Strange, isn't it?
Did you guys watch Hawaii Stars? Damn! Those guys sound a lot better than lots of the AI contestants.

Nope, no joke. Barry Manilow songs it is for this week. I don't know that Jon Stevens will have that easy a time. Reason is that he really lacks performance presence and delivery and his singing borders on blah. Check out George and La Toya and see how much more star power they have when they sing. It's quite different.
Manilow has tons of great songs so the contestants will have to choose a good match for themselves and then stand and deliver it.

Hawaii Stars? Nope.
AI is "live" and that hurts performers. You do it right the first time or else. It's tough to do well.

Well they sang tonight and some had really good performances (the battle of the Divas!)
The two guys didn't do as well.
Layota and Jennifer were pretty solid.
Fantasia wasn't flawless but I did like her energy level which was equal to about 20 contestants.
I think Jasmine did OK but really needs to take it to the next level.
It did look interesting to work with Barry Manilow. He's been doing hits for over 30 years.
Who's the next guess? Neil Diamond, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling stones, or Paul Mc Cartney?
Somebody's clogging up my phone line!

me too....I also lost money. I thought that person was going to win AI..... I also thought that person had the best performance last night. Can't believe who was in the bottom 3.....the results have got to be rigged....because tonight's episode is going to make for some really good TV.

The producers were tricking us by making two groups and then sending George to the "top group" after the break.
It makes me think that the results are rigged. As in I wonder if La Toya was really in group A. Maybe the producers put her there because they wanted us to think that Group A was the safe group. Then as a shocker we find that group B is the safe group and now we have our new bottom three!
Hog wash. All of those three did well. While Fantasia wasn't at her very best I find little fault in Jennifer Hudson's performances the last two weeks. She did not loose to be voted out this week. I would have selected John or Diana.
Apparently somebody is voting for John.
I didn't bet any money but it shows that America doesn't know good singers.
Personally I want each person to do their best and take some chances, had good energy and go for it.
Lets see some good performances. When a person that does very well gets voted off it makes it seem more like survivor than AI. Survivor mentality-" lets vote off the stronger competitor" because they are a threat.

An interesting tidbit- the four wildcards for the final 12 were:
Leah Labelle
JPL
George Huff
Jennifer Hudson
Anybody see a pattern here? The others have a strong voting backing so the wildcards have their work cut out for them. In George's case there are no more wildcards left so maybe those votes will go to george.
Did you know that on March 31 the bottom three were Amy Adams, La Toya and Jennifer?

AI is a popularity contest first...then it's a singing contest. just look at the past finalists -- the winners aren't doing as well as the runner-ups and other finalists (i.e., kelly clarkso vs tamyra is a good example). until they put a 1-vote limit in place, the show isn't gonna change. america loves reality tv which is why we all love american idol! (and personally, i like the cute red head.

now i think that's really cute  2 cuties in love
she didnt have her flower on tonight either....hmmmm....love in the AI mansion. i like it.
keiki -- noticed your avatar changed. why the grumpy look?

No, no, I found it on the web. If I would have photoshopped it, the mic he is holding would've been something else.

And Jennifer Hudson hails from Chicago. Beats me why she doesn't have enough support from that area to keep up with others but I did find this post about some things that could have made a difference.
http://chicago.about.com/cs/events2/a/042004_idol.htm
"Part of the reason why Jennifer lost is that she never connected with the public. They weren't listening to her voice. They were looking at the way she worked her jaw and moved her hands up and down her body.
And part of it was just plain bad luck. Yesterday, just as Jennifer came on TV and began saying what a dream it was to work with Barry Manilow, the TV signal was interrupted by a weather alert. I thought we might miss part of her performance (fortunately, that was not the case). As the weather worsened I wondered how that might affect the number of calls made on Jennifer's behalf (a lot of people around Illinois must have had problems with their phone lines). Ryan Seacrest said this was the tightest margin ever and that the person leaving once had the highest number of votes... We have to wonder what would have happened if the weather had been fair. Would more people have called? I guess we'll never know."

mentioning that it was the tightest margin ever is just a ploy for higher ratings and to gain more votes/calls next week. They are hoping that people will think twice about NOT voting because soemthing like this might happen again next week.
beastmaster.....you are so right. This is my "I feel like a senior who has no date to senior prom" look. I feel so left out!
That's alright....I going show up anyways at the end. You gonna be there, beast?
