John Cooper Works - 1st Impressions
AWESOME! SMOOTH! EXCITING!
The first John Cooper Works Kit was installed and tested on June 25, 2003. As a guru of the MINI Coopers (it helps working for MINI of Hawaii), I am fortunate to have first experiences with new add-ons and accessories. In this case, the only kit installed in the State of Hawaii, there is going to be a happy MCS customer in the next day or so.
When I started the MCS, I knew this was going to be a great experience. The exhaust sound was exhilarating and the feeling of power was obvious when I let my foot up on the clutch. It was an awesome feeling as I gently went through 1st , 2nd and 3rd gear, making sure I keep my RPMs below 5000 (just wanted to make sure it received the respect and break-in period). The engine was smoother than the standard S model and gave me the impression that the gearbox was different. To say the least I wished this was my John Cooper Works MSC.
If you want the best of the best for your MCS you need to spring for the John Cooper Works Kit. Give me a call (808 593-8699) or email (aka@bmwhawaii.com) to reserve your kit or if you have any questions about it.
Be the first to identify the MINI with the John Cooper Works package and get a MINI T-shirt from me at MINI of Hawaii. First email with the correct license plate number wins.

I hereby disqualify myself from the competition because I have been following around this MCS for the last month- or at least my car has been following his car around- or so it seems. I was at Mini of HI when the install was being made and also there at another shop when another grand upgrade was being made to said MCS.
No doubt that the JCW kit is very nice. Aka you are now spoiled completely for driving it- shame on you.

As I watched the installation of the JCW kit I could not help but wonder...
Whatever is he going to do with three exhaust systems? The stock exhaust, the aftermarket BORLA that was just removed, and the Kit's exhaust. Obviously two aren't needed. Keep the kit exhaust due to the warranty and hopefully find a buyer for the used Borla (regular version-not the sport).
So if you are interested in a used Borla you might consider this source- maybe contact Aka.
Just a thought as I ponder in the delight of driving the JCW kit equipt MCS.

beastmaster-
Good choice. I kinda like the Borla for it's slightly growly exhaust note-(better than stock), nice looks and dual tips.
See if you can swing a deal. Just save some space for the bulky stock exhaust which is 44 pounds and a one piece paper weight once the Borla is installed.

>>When has ESOTERIC not been jjjjjiiiiiitttttterrrrryyyyyy?
I think it's the nicotine that makes him jittery.
As for the Aloha 500, my '87 635csi should be up and running. It might be a good match with the edge going to the MC CVT due to size and mass. After all, the '87 came with only 182 hp in a 3400 lb vehicle!
EDIT: Or I could be sandbagging!

Wow, that is a lot of Gold to see all at once!
Could you have imagined the Italian Job done in three MINIs one gold, one silver and one black?
That would be cool. Maybe they should make a bronze color.
Metallic candy red is a natural like the electric blue but in red.

IS that rear wheel big enough? Not sure... yup, it's big. I wonder if he has a recon sticker?
Where did his front fender go? Might have fell off. Sort of reminds me of the Hulk but in red.
Medium metallic british racing green is good-

Actually I have gotten to know several other dealers' car salespersons and I choose
MINI of Hawaii as my home away from home.
And no I am not homeless- although to some people it seems that way.
I just like to see other MINIs on a regular basis.
Clean ones are always nice. I wish I could park my MINI indoors (like at the dealership) - not just in my garage but like in... my living room  See what you started SouthSeaSadie?

MINI of Hawaii sounds like a very cool dealer!
Order an MCS from MofH, drive around the islands for a week, ship car to Cali.
What would that shipping cost?
Hmmmm.
And I've never been to Hawaii!
