How different is my 2014 JCW Coupe from GP?

Never saw a GP or GP2. What years were these made, and assuming they have basically the same N18 JCW engine I have were there any other engine mods? I have a Stage 1 ManicMini ECU tune adds about 40hp and the factory sport suspension. What does the GP have? Did it come with Recaro seats? Also the Coupe has a stiffer slightly heavier frame and stiffer body like the Roadster, and the spoiler. My car was $40k, how much were the GP cars? Thanks in advance!

I can't answer all your questions, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I will chime in...

Thanks for that! It doesn't seem much different/better than my car, same weight, brakes, JCW engine, Recaro seats. The suspension is probably better. My car is certainly faster with the Stage 1 tune. And the stiffer convertible frame and body might help handling (no body lean at all).

As for some comparisons,
I like watching 'Ring hot laps...

...although not as fast as R56,
R53 is still my favorite and I love the way it sounds:

8:06

:

"official" GP2 time
8:23

:

R58:

8:17

:

modded R56:

7:38

&

7:44

:

If I was local and was able to drive there often,
after a while I think I'd be tempted to blast Green Hell at full volume on loop four times over and over while driving!

Forgot to add the wiki link for reference as it helps put the times into perspective:

This M3 driver delivers the goody goods,
very impressive!

I love foot pedal cams too, wish there were more to see, the rally drivers especially, I mean watching Ari Vatanen or Stig Blomqvist dance with the pedals is like a superjuiced ballet of exquisite control.

More Audi S1 goodness, a stone cold classic from the glory days of massive crowds and monster cars,
Walter Röhrl with some very masterful driving...

The convertible frame compromises the stiffness. Additional bracing is added to compensate for the lost in stiffness, but it is not still enough to match the hardtop.

I know but the Coupe is a hardtop not a convertible but it has the same frame/body. It has to be more aerodynamic than the hatchback, with the lower profile top and with the sharply angled windscreen and rear window, and the 2 spoilers.
