Is there a way of knowing what number of the 1 of 2000 our gp,s are?

Short answer is no. Bmw usa has allocated numbers 1-500 for the usa delivered models. The remaining 1500 world wide models do not have official numbers. I note you are from mexico, so presumably your car is one of the 1500 non usa cars?

the 1-500 numbers for the us are arbitrary, and bear no relation to the production number. for example, number 1 is in the usa, but there were clearly cars produced and delivered well before this in europe, uk, asia etc.

the usa numbers are useful for tracking ownership of usa delivered cars etc, so do have some value.
