GP Delivery
I was also told that the only ones who were getting engraved key fobs were the folks who called the 800 number to order the car. I told my dealer that made no sense at all.
#1649 is my original Mini GP (2006) the April GP delivery is #0314. I asked for the numbers to match but since they are only numbering through 500 in the US matching numbers was not possible....
I expect the dealers to have the goodies also, not just those who called the 800 number. As a 4-time MINI owner and a GP deposit holder since last May, I am going to be pissed if I don't get at least 1 (come on, just 1 would be fine!) of these perks that come with the car...
So Marin Mini gave me a call and told me my GP arrived today. The sales rep was nice enough to let me look at it before pickup on Sat. Saw 5 other GPs that literally just came off the truck. All were spoken for. Got a chance to look under to see the front carbon fiber undertray. Nice !
I was lucky I ordered last Dec and only had a short wait (#244). I got mine at list price thankfully.

what's up RA2- when I saw that, I immediately thought of you...you were the reason I asked for pics
it would be real cool if the engine undercover was carbon fiber but doubt it... I dont see how/why Mini would make that piece carbon fiber and the rear diffuser in ABS... but anything is possible...

Hello future GP owners, this will either be me being the early bird getting the worm or putting salt in the wound as you are all waiting for your GP's.
My question is this, I have been wanting red mirror caps for my MCS but I just do not want painted ones. If anyone finds themselves wanting to sell or trade their red GP caps out let me know please.
These would make an excellent addition to my red trimmed MSC. Thank you.
P.S. Congrats to you all on your GP's, sounds like taking possession is right around the corner. I am envious of all 500 of you.

Interesting that it would be fiberglass over a lighter construction...
fastminiz, happy for you. We look forward to deliver pics!

Guys - got a call from my Mini Dealer telling me the car is at the dealership. The numbered stickers were NOT applied at port - and need to be installed by the dealer....
Says I may be able to pick it up tomorrow - or at least soon!
Apparently, I also need to sign a waiver for the Kumho's, or agree to ride on them until regular performance tires come in (free) and replace my Kumhos, at which point they will take and destroy the Kumhos. The Kumhos are NOT to be used under 45 degrees etc etc.
Pretty Excited - I'll be sure to have pics as soon as its mine.

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S!
It can't be long for the rest of us!
Interesting about the number decals and odd about the tires - wonder if the latter is the reason why the cold, snowy east coast cars have been held up at port?

Ironically, just got a call from our MA to let us know the car is due to arrive tomorrow!!! Number decals will not be on the car but will be delivered with the car.
Most all true summer performance tires will provide very little traction below 45 degrees as the compounds do not respond well the temp. But who is really going to rock their GP all year round?
