No black box has arrived in my mail yet

 

woo hoo. I got the "black box" a week ago. Finally got the New Yorker issue at Barnes and Noble and "decoded" the secret message. I followed the path and I thought it was funny how when i went to enter my numbers in i got it wrong and it said something like "don't worry, we know you're just excited, try again" HAHA! I also find it funny that no one has spilled the beans, but I think most of us on this thread want to do this for fun, and part of the fun is actually doing it. So what if I did just want mini advertising wanted and bought the magazine, it's a big $4. OOO and I got a copy of MC2 also, not the edition with the ad though. Have fun everyone!

 

Apparently "the beans have been spilled" elsewhere online - I found a post on another forum today that has a link to "the website"!

 

Magazine - Yes!
Secret email - Yes!

Box - NO!

Aggggh!:impatient

 

Well, looks like Cooper lovers from Houston can't keep a secret.

For the record, I had no idea. I'd never seen this thread, I have not received "the box," and there was no mention of that link being any kind of secret.

I can play.

But I found the link on yet another forum.

Hrmm, I got my e-mail this morning, but no box yet.

Ok, it says "Find the MINI code in one of these magazines." Then it gives a list.

Box came in the mail yesterday... Fun!

 

Received my box yesterday, now gotta find a proper magazine.

 

help! I have my black box... I went and got blender... decoded the message... then the unthinkable happened. while I was away from my desk someone came by and left me an ice cream sandwich. (we get free ice cream on fridays during the summer). sounds good so far right? well the moron put it directly on my open magazine right on top of the ad. I took it off as soon as I got back to my desk, but by then the wrapper and the magazine had become one. Could someone please PM me the link? I'll happily provide proof that I've decoded it and everything... i just forget the exact link :(

please help, I'm dying over here! :(

 

I'm just hoping I get the box! Early this year we got a new mail carrier and I can't figure out if he's just less-than-competent, or less-than-scrupulous. But since we've had him, magazines go missing or show up weeks late, mail is often wet or crumpled or both (which is mind-boggling on a dry day), and any package that won't fit in our sizeable mailbox is bent, folded, and otherwise smushed, packed, and pounded until it does. God forbid he waddle out of his truck and leave it on our porch.

Okay, pardon the rant. I just want my box, and I want it in one tidy piece.

 

I'm psyched. I just got me secret email message. Now I just have to get the box and a magazine.

 

No box today...I am still trying to figure out what addresses MINI uses. The dealer I go to for service (Towson) has had my current address for a year. The owner's lounge has only had it for a couple of days. Could they have used my old address from the owner's lounge or would they have used my current address from the dealer's records?

 

I got an unrelated box today that was shipped in November... I hope my mystery box comes soon...

 

I had a problem w/ Norton Internet Security. I turned my pop-up blocker off using the option in IE, but I had to launch the Internet Security application and disable it for 5 minutes... it all worked then!



I"m waiting for legs 2 and 3...

 

My box hasn't showed up yet...I'm beginning to get worried.

I wrote MINI USA and told them I hadn't received my box yet, they wrote right back and said to wait a couple of weeks if it didn't show up by then let them know and they would send one. I got the ad now I just need the box.

Of special interest to anyone that has their kit but not the advert - I've put a Hi-Res scan on my website which can be printed (300dpi) and used successfully with the decoder!

Sooo... I got the secret email. No box yet, but I don't have my MINI yet either. Do you think I'll get one anyway because I got the mail? I wanna play too!!!

I can't believe someone would sell it! That's not very good MINI spirit! Which brings me to the point of this post. We have two. Don't know how it happened. But I'm willing to send one to a good home. If anyone is SURE they won't be getting theirs, let me know and we can work something out.
