I have only had my "experienced" MINI for a short while, and only learned of all this today. I have now registered at miniusa and have requested my black box - we'll see if I actually get one...

In defense of those accused of "spoiling" the secret - I was able to get to all the websites without any info from this forum. I went to the website of the ad company that developed the campaign - they have all you needed there to "solve" the first two.

Now I need a copy of RS and a pair of red glasses!

Cool, got the magazine, clipped the ad and used the glasses. Unfortunately, the web site doesn't provide an obvious link to the medallion offer. Did I mis-type?

Click on the book the guy is holding. Make sure your pop-up blocker is off. Then you can enter your VIN #. I think it's case sensative so make sure the letters are in caps.

Even with the pop-up blocker off, the address leads to a text only site that offers links to other sites, mostly car sales; edmunds, carmax, etc. Oh, and an annoying pop-up to try and "win" a PS3. Still .

I bought my Mini used. Managed to figure out how to get the toggle panel, but not the 'black box' that people talk about. How do I go about getting this, so I could join in on the fun?

the black box is sent out by MINI themselves, maybe a dealer would have them, but im not sure check MINIUSA.com maybe they have something in the owners lounge

I, too, bought my Mini used in September. Although I was able to figure out the websites on my own, I inquired as to receiving a decoder kit from the Mini Owner's lounge. I received a message today stating that Mini USA would send me out a kit--yet, it will take 4-6 weeks.

The best advice is to request a kit, but also work on figuring out the clues without the kit--it's certainly worthwhile!

I was at my friends house and used his rolling stones mag, I didnt have my glasses with me, so i used this grocery bag that had big red letters on it, and used it over the ad, and it worked, so I guess anything thats red and "see through" will work

The third quest is certainly the best - love the music..... (hope it makes it to iTunes...)

I did this three times before noticing the path to the Medallion - easy to miss and I was crestfallen thinking that after all of this "I don't get something out of the deal !!" What a selfish attitude - but hey !!!

I even enjoyed Rolling Stone this month - I want to see Borat in a MINI !!!

I could really use that link too. Too much organic chemistry to go out and find the mag. Thanks!

Third video really is the best... it's this past summer's roadtrip and everything that's good about MINI all rolled up into one... Can't wait to get the final prize by "special" delivery... hahahahaha

I actually subscribed to Maxim just for these ads, but the latest issue doesn't have the ad. . . . I'll take that PM please. . .

I'm in the same position as Yucca, my Maxim does not have the ad, not does MC2. Could some one also PM me? I have the glasses, but without the ad it does not do me any good.

Yucca, when you get your PM would you pass it on?
