I meant that as a metaphor, not literally.

But it does look like there will be lots of things offered to registered participants at the end of each leg, and I'd hazard to guess that we "drop ins" will not be able to partake of them. Maybe I'm wrong on that score (shrug).

I was just saying that if the point of the ad campaign was to lead Mini owners to the cross-country event site, then it was badly executed... by the time i got there, registratin was closed, and there's still magazines coming out with the ads at later dates!

it felt a bit like... "Ohhh... come see, come see this cool thing for Mini owners! (( ****** ))) TOO BAD you can't have it! Mwahahahaha!!"

Someone on the MetroplexMINIs.org site found the 'secret' site a few weeks ago and posted the URL on a thread but nobody knew quite what to think of it...

 

OK, I got to the point where I'm at the website with the box with the "Is it a windshield or a weapon?" link. I click that and a MINI window pops us asking me for my VIN. When I enter my VIN & click the "enter" link in that window, that window just closes & throws me back to the "Is it a windshield or a weapon?" page, without anything appearing to happen....... Is there something ese on that page I need to find? I looked everywhere for more links but can't find anything except ants, bees, and roaches, all of which seem to lead nowhere.

Hey, do us 'in production' guys get the boxes... or is it only for owner's who actually have taken delivery of the car?

 

Larry, you may have popups blocked in your browser - look at the top of your browser window and see if you have something that says "Firefox (or Internet Exploder) Blocked a Popup - Click here For Options". If so, allow popups from that site and you should be good to go.

 

ImagoX, that got me going... thanks. I usually block pop-ups and didn't think about that, plus I guess I need to read those little tiny Firefox message boxes a little more carefully.....

 

I think there are too many hints now... Look carefully and you'll find the answer even without the ad from the magazine.

sad thing i got my mini in germany. i cant even register in the owners lounge on miniusa guess ill have to call them monday. plus no black box stuff, one of my buddies just got a mcs after driving mine a lot in germany and i have to be okay with looking at his stuff

 

WHERE'S MY BOX!!! I hate being patient.

 

I never got one! My MCS is used. Any other used owners not get a box. This stinks! First no welcome kit and now this.

 

I have not gotten one either. I got my 05 used w/4,500 miles in July 2005. I immediately registered with MINUSA. I got a "birthday" e-Mail from them the other day but no box.

Apparently we are second class citizens?

 

If they only ship to original owners, I should have got three boxes - but I didn't

 

It's little things like this that really drive me crazy with companies. This is a cool promotion and differentiates MINI from the competition, but the execution is spotty. Either get them all out within a few days window or don't do it. Now people get upset that they have been "left out".

Naturally a fullfillment house will be blamed. MINIUSA has the responsbility to make sure the fulfillment house does its job. Execution, execution, execution.

That having been said, we're talking about a free box here.

 

Original owner here. I haven't received my box yet either!

 

If you have moved since buying your MINI, call MINI-USA and update your address info. After my wife got her box and I was left box-less, I called and found that they had my old address in the computer. Now they are sending me my box.

 

I am having issues after getting to the secret website. I get the page to open but can't get anything else to open after that. I read that someone got to a point to enter your vin #. :impatient If anyone can help I would appreciate it, since its driving me crazy...!!! Thanks

I received 2 black boxes last week, 1 at the business & 1 at home, sounds like some organizational problems, some don't get them & I get 2 of just about everything they send....SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

 

No black box yet, I haven't moved, I get everything else, what gives
