I'm in So. Cal and I just got my 2nd black box in the mail today.

 

People, don't sell your boxes on ebay! OK, I know it's not NAMers doing it, but c'mon! If you get two boxes, just donate one to someone who didn't get one. That's what I did, and now I feel all warm and fuzzy...

 

Kudos to you, katesmini! I agree that it is not in the MINI spirit to sell our MINI gifts to the highest bidder.

Oh and I love it when they use the "rare" word in their auction copy. I guess not everyone knows that MINI will or has sent out over 150,000 of these rare boxes

I had thought of that, shipping would be $4.05 via USPS in the USA...and a PayPal fee (if used). Although I don't have a problem with them being on eBay as some do. I guess first come, first serve would be the best way to give it away. Then if they get theirs, either I am out $4.05, or they are, who ever pays shipping....and so on....then MINI owners who give them away will wind up paying out $4.05 one way or the other on something that is free if you own one & if you don't get one you could just call MINI or your MINI Dealer & get one sent to you free of charge.

As I make my living on eBay (ebay ID : cushin14) and some land investments, that is being deliberated now ! I can see someone who will not get one of these, or does not own a MINI...although they probably want one ...and would want it for many reasons I can think of.

Well, I am a NAMer that makes my living on eBay, so take that with a grain of salt when reading my opinion but I do understand why you gave one away. I am just experiencing a conflict of inetrest on this topic I guess

Everyone should get one of the Black Boxes from MINI (for FREE) & probably eventually will, if not make a phone call & save $4.05. Somewhere down the line any extras will probably wind up on eBay like most everything eventually does anyway.

There is certainly nothing wrong with selling anything that you own, but consider this.

How would you feel if some part on your MINI broke and you needed a replacement? What if you mentioned it here and someone out of the goodness of their heart sent you a PM stating that they had an extra in their garage and they would be happy to send it to as a gesture of goodwill towards the MINI community?

This actually happens quite a lot. I keep a box of spare parts that I don't need and I've given away a glove box organizer, a brand new S-Lite with runflat so someone could have a spare, and a few other things I can't remember. Sure I could have sold these things, but I made a deposit in the Bank of MINI Karma instead.

Last week, my bonnet scoop broke. To buy a new one and have it painted would be expensive and it would have been crummy to pay a lot of money just to make my car look like it did before the incident, but three people offered to send me their extra. If you ask me, that is fantastic and a true testament to what a great community we have here.

there is no such site. does anyone know anything ?

 

use your decoder and don't cheat! Many of us know the real website but no one has posted it yet!

In the envelope, I got the "MINI Parking Only" template. I bought/registered my MCS in January. At this rate, I'll get the black box in April 2008

I got an email on 7/20 saying the same thing and still nothing for me yet either. I do have the blender magazine with the advert waiting just in case. But i am admittedly really really really jealous. I pick up my new mini next weekend. wooooooo - I am in So Cal.

 

We got our MTTS packet in time for the event. No problem there.
I just got back from MTTS last night and today the postman delivered the new owner black box to us - however no decoder glasses... is there a third package we should expect in the mail from MINIUSA?
