I came up with my PH/B MINI's name after a few beers. It was so obvious after the fact...isn't that always the case!

You know you're a little heartbreaker...Foxy MINI

Like so many of those stories there are probably several versions built up over the years. In the poem I'm thinking of, Gawain's merry host Bercilak and the Green Knight were the same person, and the whole ordeal had been orchestrated by Morgan le Fay.

That's probably the original version.

A great fictionalized account of the Arthurian Legend is "Arthur Rex" by Thomas Berger.

Mine is El Kabong. I wanted something quirky and funny, that would make people smile. I love when I'm in a parking lot heading back to El Kabong and see people walking past him and pointing and smiling at the graphics. Oh, and look what I found tonight, an El Kabong Bobble head bank that says "It is I, El Kabong" followed by the guitar bonging sound! I must have it, price be damned!

My Mini has no name, but last night I asked her if we should name it (and mentioned this thread) and she came up with the name "Oreo".

It's so appropriate, it's probably taken.

It's ok for more than one car to have the same name. There's at least two "Gromit's" on this forum, lord knows how many more out there.

If "Oreo" suit you and your Mini, then so be it!

My DS/B is known as Nigel. It was almost TomTom but we wanted something a bit more British. Cheers

Well, being from Boston and the MINI being BRG, I felt Wally the Green Monster (Red Sox mascot) was the only name that fit! And after driving it for a while, I was right!

Who in their right mind would give a name to a car? I know that Minis are special( I have one and love it), but to name them as if they were people or pets is ridiculous:impatient ...

No. It's a car. It makes me smile, but it's still just a car.

You're kidding, right? I know plenty of people who name their cars, and none of them even have MINI's. Haven't you ever had an older/finicky car that, upon cranking it over you say "c'mon, baby..." Cars have personality, plus most humans love to anthropomorphize (triple word score!). In the days of yore, your horse had a name, so why not the modern substitute?

My pathfinder lost a rear-view mirror when I was backing up a tree-lined driveway on a curve- he became Vincent, the Van-go-mobile.

Just christened my MINI- Gonzo!
