I was actually set on "BRG"/W until the very last moment. Picked the space blue having only seen the PR pics of the checkmate on the web. Have loved it every day since I took delivery.

Hang in there, Chimera! The SB/S without the checkmate package is really nice. (no offense meant to the checkmate faithful)

Am I the only SB with body colour roof? I love the way my car looks with the chrome package, very upscale.

Maybe some chrome wheels instead of the silver s-lites? That would definatel add to the classy look. The wheels look out of place being that there isn't anything else silver on the car (except for maybe the dash?)

they also make a chrome roof, if you did want to go that far.

Acutally, I've got an all SB car, no chrome or sivler, although I'm looking to get the silver V-bonnet stripe. I do like your chrome, you know they make a chrome mesh front grill and same for the back plastic grills as well. And behind the door handles are chrome inserts for sale too. If you check out my gallery you'll see some pics of mine, just a plain Jane, but still a MINI none the less.

I got a CravenSpeed 15% pulley, and iridium plugs installed. Honestly, it's not something I would've done myself because I have almost no ability or tools to do a job like that. It did involve quite a bit of work; you raise the part of the engine that contains the old pulley, make sure the tensioner rod is stopped at the first hole (just use a nail), pull the old pulley out with a pulley extraction tool, put the new one on, wrap the belt properly (just use your old one if you're under 5k miles) and then drop the engine back in. What I didn't mention is that we also took a wheel off to get to that area, and some kind of tool whose name and usage are completely unfathomable to me was employed.

Spark plugs, though, are simple.

And man, does the MINI feel different with a 15% pulley.

The wheels will be coming, I'm having trouble picking out a set that will look good and still be light enough for my tastes. I've got the chrome interior package too and brushed aluminum look dash so there's not much silver inside either.

Thanks minibot for the info. Well, after reading that I'm pretty sure I'll go with a cert. mechanic. How much did it run you for install and where did you go. Yeah, I've heard great results with the 15% pulley, I can't wait.

Count me in as well! I got mine in Nov. '05. I don't see too many SB's around, so it's nice having a "rare" car....

I think most of the MINI's i see out on the road are usually either pw or cr. Sometimes i'll see a BRG.

But rarely i see a SB. The one time I did see an SB out on the road it was a checkmate. I was surprised.

Gonna get a gekko on the sunroof- just as soon as my girl does a design...

I'm thinking burnt orange to contrast with the space blue.

I love this thread, looks like I'll be one of the few Mini Cooper SB/S. I noticed that the silver swoop on the hood goes down to the end of the hood on the cooper while on the MCS, it on goes to the end of the hood scoop.

that would be because there isn't a scoop on the MC. SB MC 's look good too.

Haha yes I realized. Just pointing out the difference and the fact that most in this thread have a MCS. I only saw one picture of a MC sb and I believe it was somewhere in this thread. I saved it but my laptop with that pic is gone right now.

edit: found it! it was on page 5.. but just for those who don't want to search for it.. I don't have mine yet but I will by next week!
