The Official "Royal Grey Plays Well With Others" Thread...

Since everyone else is off ruling the world, why don't the small number of Royal Greys (and future RG's!) hang out & have a Guinness here...

FWIW, I'll be ordering a RG/RG by the end of the year very similar to the one below. I'll be going with the Premium, Cold Weather, DSC, LSD, Front & rear Fogs, Xenons, HK, Park Lane (RG) Dash and the Tartan Red 1/2 Leather.

Instead of the lovely R99's, I have a set of 16x7 Bronze Rota Circuit 8 rims that I will be using, along with a Aero Grill. I have and Ian's Circuit waiting as well! Other plans include an Alta intake and rear sway, IceLink, as well as a pulley (size TBD!).

cheers!

Is it just me or why did MINI release another color that is soo close to Dark Silver? You can only really see the difference in person. But they are so close in color.

I guess for the same reason they made Hyper Blue when there was already Indi Blue...

I have to see the color for myself, because color in pictures is so deceiving, but from what I see above it looks very nice.

I can honestly say I love RG more than my beloved PW...but I'm not going to run out and trade, I'll hold myself back, I will, I will...The RG/S I saw at Long Beach MINI last time I was there was just perfect!

Might be a good idea because this picture is also of a Royal Grey and it looks nothing like the other pics posted in this thread

Better see it in person, nothing like silver or grey, more like BROWN with sparkles...

The one in Jimbo's post looks the most like what I saw at the dealer a month ago. To me it looks kinda gray/olive. I think it's very classy looking, especially with the silver roof.

Yup, Royal Grey is the way to go! I Just placed my order last weekend, and should have my production number in 6 months (i know, i know, i could have it sooner, but would rather stay local).

He is going to be:

MCS
Silver Roof
Chrome Line exterior
Packages #1-#4
Chrome line interior
English leather seats
Park Lane Dash
H/K stereo
NAV

Pretty much everything but JCW and LSD.

This is going to be the longest wait of my life, but it is going to be SOOOOOO worth it.

On my computer, i would say that this pic looks more *Royal Grey* than the pic I posted. Both times I went to the dealer it was pretty overcast, which didn't help show RG's warmth in the pictures....

It really is quite different from DS.

Nice pic BTW!

I love to go to MINIUSA and build a fantasy MINI every couple weeks. The latest object of my MINI fantasy love affair is most definitely the Royal Grey/Silver MCS.

I would describe Royal Grey as being closer to bronze or pewter, with definite brownish-olive undertones. It is another one of those colors that changes depending on the light. It is very classy. I believe I saw the same one at Long Beach MINI that Suzanne mentioned above. It was SO close to my fantasy-spec that it took my breath away!

I have to remember to upload the pix I took of it to see if any of them do it justice. Jimbo's piccie comes very close to capturing the lovely warm tones of Royal Grey.

I've seen the Royal Grey in person and I agree with Clover and the others. It's a brownish, greenish grey. Very nice.

If I were buying a new MINI today, it would be on my short list of colors to consider.

Okay. Other colors, stay to your own threads...no fair hi-jacking this new one. Seriously.

But that response doesnt work because they discontinued Indi and came out with Hyper, whereas Royal Grey and DS will be on the market together.

And CDMINI have seen it in person, its a brownish grey with a greenish ting to it.

that is why there is a smily after my post. And all those posts about how different IB and HB are...well, let's just say it applies to DS and RG as well. Very hard to tell from ANY pics i have seen posted, my own included.

Yup. And many people won't order won't order that color and many people won't *get* it. That's ok....RG plays well with others!

but unlike DS, which is a cooper S specific color, Royal Grey seems to be available to both models. That being said, I reaaaalllly like the Royal grey.
