oh, silly me! I totally missed that!! That monitior at work sucks (I'm at home now and can tell the difference now). Thats pretty sweet, a really smooth transition from the silver to chrome, not as an abrupt color change as I feared. I might just have to get that.... but I'm thinkin' chrome grill too.

I actually had the chrome exterior (chrome grill) but switched it out with the body color grill because there was a little too much "bling" for my liking. Regardless, the 3 "flavors" work well IMO as they all belong in the same color family and I was trying to achieve a monochromatic look. Im quite pleased w/ the results.

I recently had an accident with my MINI and I'm in the process of choosing colors for my next one. I had a CR/B but looking at the Royal Grey it looks nice. How does the color do with spashes in rain, dirt, etc for looks and cleaning? Does anyone have the parklane interior and how close are it's color to the body color?

Any recommendations from experience for going silver roof and mirrors or body color?

Thanks,

I think the RG shows dirt pretty easily, but not as bad as black..

If you want a dirt-proof car you need the pure silver!

I think the RG would clash with a silver roof - it's like 2 versions of silver on the same car. I think it would look good with black, lousy with white. Mine is body color, and I prefer that - I wanted a stealthy look, because I drive fast, and want to avoid the cops...

I haven't seen many RG MINIs out yet are the numbers still small in comparison to other MINIs? I've seen plenty of CR, BRB, Blue, and white but not RG.

I have only seen 2 Royal Greys in person. One time at the dealer when I happened to stop by to see if they had any (before I ordered my car) and one about 1 month or so ago about a mile away from my house. That is 2 in about 10 months that I have been looking for Royal Grey. I will love having a rare color!

Its nice, I definitely think this would look amazing with a chili red roof or rearview mirrors in chili red. Nice, very nice

Another Royal Grey MCS here! I like the look of the silver roof and mirrors on mine. Test drove one with the Parklane and English leather interior. That was a real nice look, but a little too pricey for my wife to agree on. Settled on the Anthracite dash/door panels and black and grey "leatherette". It's hard to admire the interior when your motoring anyway.

I think the leatherette is fine, but the english leather is really, really nice stuff. It's one of the favorite things about mine - and defintely catches that early 60s vibe in a nice updated way. Worth the money.
Regarding the rarity, I haven't ever seen one on the road besides mine.....

And I'm always looking..

you're probably right but gives you the opportunity to wash it.

AFAIK, Park Lane looks the best with Royal Grey/Silver roof and chrome line outside. Awsome combination.

Having a Royal Grey roof, well it looks a bit too dull.

My CR/B and a Grey meet after a long day on the track. It was a meeting out of mutual respect..... but mine is faster!
We will meet again soon on the track. Maybe they will get along then?????

royal grey which is only available with the park lane model but I saw an astro black / white park lane the other day. Nice but does look funny with royal grey dashboard.

I had not read anything about the RG coming in Park Lane dash without paying the additional $200 for that interior. Are you sure that is the case?

i have the Park Lane dash in my 06 RG/RG. Aside from the "carbon" center, the rest is the exact RG color. I thought that i would not like the carbon, got used to it. Comes with anthricite gauge rings, i swapped mine to silver.

The RG looks great with or without the silver roof. I opted for the RG, because i don't care for the lighter roofs & the sun roof. I have yet to see a silver roof that looked bad. It offers the contrast, but is a bit sleeker than the white...

looks killer on solar red, space blue & BRG....

I'm not quite sure to whom you are answering too but in Europe, Park Lane's are standard fitted with RG dash (no extra $ to be paid) and AFAIK chrome line both on the inside and outside. Look awesome.

Whatever the color you choose on the outside (RG / PS / AB / BRG), dashboard will ALWAYS be RG which can make kind of funny combination if outside color is not RG.

My Royal Grey MINI

This is my first post to NAM - and here's a photo of my Royal Grey MINI. I find it amazing that my husband and I agreed on the color immediately. I thought we would have fussed over different colors.

Hey Andy, shouldn't your MINI be "feet dry" today?

Andywsea, sweet car! The silver roof with royal grey, chrome, and the red "S" look fantastic. I've had my car for exactly two weeks now and it's been a blast. Bet you can't wait to take delivery!
