When I picked up my MCS they had a Royal Grey/Silver MCS in the showroom. What a great looking car! Almost made me wish I'd chosen that color. IMO the chrome package would be killer with that color.

Thanks. I was a bit scared at first ordering Royal Grey, but I'm really glad I did. It is a really nice color. Many would call it a warm grey rather than a true gray.

looks great! it's amazing how almost black - BRG it looks here:

Yea. I think it is picking up lots of reflections from the tree, which in turn is tinting it a little. Very hard to take a picture of and get it right. Most of the pictures, I've color corrected a little bit to bring out the true color a bit more.

This one is probably the best representation of the color. (Click for a bigger version)

A RG in my hand...!

I just picked up my 2006 MC/RG on 12/18/05; a retirement gift to myself

for making it through 20yrs. on the NYPD...!

I blindly ordered the RG, because DarkSilver was not available for the

MC. This decision proved to be miraculous...!!

The character of this color changes ever so slightly; in relation to ambient

light. At night, RG becomes Sleek and Sophisticated; a nocturnal power...!

The silver roof contrast is equally sophisticated and mature. I also

decided to utilize the TARTAN RED and 7 PIANO for a deeper talent to the

RG uniqueness. We are the same but now we are also different.....!

First, congrats on your retirement with the NYPD!

Please post pics of the Tartan with the RG! I will be ordering that myselff, and i know it will look great, but I am excited to see it!

I was also thinking about the Seven Piano black dash, but then I saw the Park Lane Dash....which is RG in color. Sort of like buying the body color dash option for a RG. But, no two ways about it, the Seven dash is hot!

trying to be patient for mine!!!!

patiently waiting to order

Just got on the waiting list but will be ordering a RG/S MCS JCW w/ bonnet stripes (did the MINI newb get the abv. right? Not sure aboot the stripes part). I want the Lapis Blue leather seats but am wondering if they would clash with the greenish/brownish tint of the RG. Any thoughts?

In Texas, the fronts can only be 30% legally. The back is 5%. I felt naked without tint for 2 weeks.

By the way, one thing I noticed is that on Goldie, I had the auto dim rear view mirror with the same tint. With tint that dark, there is absolutly NO difference between the auto dimming mirror and the standard, which I have in Wyatt.

"I love my country, but I think it's time we started seeing other people"

It was the wording on a bumper sticker I saw that struck me as funny. It speaks to the wording that people use to soften the blow of a break up. Also speaks to the growing discomfort I'm having with the way in which America is becoming increasingly isolationist as far as it's role in global affairs.Hmmmm this sounds dangerously close to a political discussion, a direction that caused an entire forum on this site to disappear a while back , over and out. I like Royal Grey a lot (thats why my wife and I immediately jumped on it when we found out there is one available). But seems like you can get Royal Grey in the US without the Checkmate package, is that right? I am from Canada, and we can only order the Royal Grey with the Checkmate package. The space blue interior and the two tone seats are kind of weird matching with a Royal Grey exterior, but as my wife said, it might not be a bad idea because you have two "styles"!

I'll try to post a pic after the weekend. A friend of mine has a dark silver and I will visit his shop for window tinting on Fri.

thank you! I am thinking about pulling the "cooper S", and just adding one of the black "let's motor" frames to finish the rear off.

Of course, there is tint, the right rims, maybe some caliper paint....
