Hey everyone, my AB/W MC is awaiting transport at the moment, and I'm trying to get everything in order before it gets here. I was wondering what products Astro Black owners prefer for detailing?

The color is so complex and lovely, I am not sure how the results of a synthetic vs. carnauba wax will differ with this color. What do you use???

 

My AB/MCS/JCW build date is ...9/11/06! I asked the MA if the delivery date happened to be on Friday the 13th.

 

Here it is. MCS, LSD, trip computer, That's It. Two firsts, one second(by .02sec.) in first three solo II's. Not on these tires and wheels.

 

I haven't received my car yet, but with all this talk about complexity and depth I think maybe a Griot's Best of Show, or S100 to really show off all that's going on in the paint.

 

I like Griot's best of show! Here's a pic of my freshly-detailed car recently. I washed, clayed it, and used best of show, and it looked GREAT! It's much dirtier now, sadly. I think the rainy season has started here in Seattle

Did you black out the grill yourself or did those come painted. That looks sharp and I've wondered how it would look.

 

Mine came standard painted AB. Me likey.

Hey, yeah! That's a sharp-looking MINI! LOVE the skull & crossbones on the roof - I'm planning on getting one similar, but I haven't settled on a design yet. Where'd you get your sunroof graphic? Did you give them a custom design, or did they just have one like that in stock?

And yeah, mine just came with the body-color grill. I like it! I don't think it was an option, but there were so many that I can't remember

I was just about to have it custom made and this was added as a new product!
I also had a smaller version made for my black daily drivers sunroof. They are both solid instead of perfed.

The upgrade leather seats are MY favorite option on the MINI! I assume they are coated but I haven't test for that yet. Just applied Z10 leather conditioner so far.
