No MINI Logo on OEM Windshield? / Safelite opinions.

My seven month old Mini was recently hit with a rock while driving on the despicable LIE. I need to replace the Windshield since the crack is spreading.
Happily, I was able to convince GEICO to approve replacing it with an OEM. My question is: How do I know it's an OEM if the original has no marking ? All the other glass on the car has the Mini "Bug".
Also, the only place close to my work that can replace it is Safelite. There is an independent shop near my home that has been open for years with a decent reputation. (Presby's Valley Stream, NY) but my odd schedule makes it impossible to have it done on any day but Saturday, which means another 2 weeks. Safelite can get the glass and have it done close to my job on Wednesday.
Any advice? Also where is the marking on the windshield ?

Thanks

Had mine replaced three time from driving on the LIE.
I don't have to pay anything luckily cause my car is registered and insured in Florida.
But back to the story. My first replacement was OEM and the two times after was this chinese brand. The OEM had the MINI pitbull on the drivers side. Forgot if it was the upper or lower. The chinese brand has their own logo but has a weird warping on the lower part of the windshield but it's only noticeable if looking for it.

If you have full glass coverage, no deductible is required. I still do not see the Logo on my 2017 F56 windshield. I asked for and was approved for OEM.

It's a Florida law about the windshields. I got full coverage but the 1st time I had to replace it they were about to charge me for it and then I have to remind them that I don't have to pay cause it's a Florida car.

Unless they changed something but it was present when I get my 2015.

You must have full coverage and comprehensive with FULL GLASS. That is the difference. Still waiting for opinions.

On my 2015 MCS there is a MINI Bulldog and "Safety by MINI" on the bottom corner of the driver's side. It's mostly covered by my NJ inspection sticker, so be sure to look there!

If you must use Safelite and I wouldn’t recommend it, make sure you see the windshield before they install it. Also make sure they have all of the correct parts. Comments are based on a incredibly terrible expereince with them.

THANKS! Mine was well hidden and camouflaged by my NYS inspection sticker.
Anyone here ever use Presby’s Auto Glass in Valley Stream NY? Any other suggestions in the area besides Safelite?

Yes, had mine replaced several times, unless you ask for MINI dealership direct glass only, they give you an aftermarket version. On the F55+ MINI they now have the famous bulldog and states MINI safety, so it's easy to spot. Older ones it just has the MINI wings logo. Side glass windows are cheap from MINI and the rear glass is also much more expensive.

I had my windshield replaced by Safelite late last summer, and it looks perfect. I requested OEM glass, and I was worried based on comments I've seen on here and other places on the internet, but they were able to get factory glass and install it just fine, even with the rain sensor. It has a couple logos in one corner, the MINI logo and another one I don't remember. It's the same brand as my original windshield, Pilkington.

This was many years ago, with my R53, but I still hold a grudge.
1. Told them to bring a Pilkington window and the part numbers for the stuff under the A-pillars. They showed up with the wrong windshield and none of the parts.
2. They retuned with right windshield and none of the parts.
3. Return and installed. Days later, while driving, the A-pillar came off.
4. Took two weeks for them to come back and repair both A-pillars. They had just gooped it up with RTV to cover up the cracked A-pillars.
5. Six months later, windshield failed, crack emanating from the edge.
6. Told them to bring a Pilkington windshield and the other parts.
7. Finally, they sent a tech who actually cared about doing the proper work. This time the job was okay. Overall, this took a lot of time and many conversations with various sledgeheads at Safelite.
Won’t do it again with Safelite. If you’ve had an acceptable experience, good for you. Dealer has done subsequent windshield replacements on my F56.

I have had two of mine done, and I went to the Dealership for the OEM glass and install, plus if any trim is needed they have it all in stock and does not slow the job.

I need to replace the glass in my R52 and I'll do that at the dealership as well.

Motor On!
