Mino !
Yes, Minis In New Orleans (MINO) is doable.
Its about 730 miles there from Charlotte. It would be a long day of about 10 hours of driving, but it could be done in a long weekend
Thursday - drive to MINO
Friday - day: plantation run, night: french quarter
Saturday - day: find Bon Temps run, night: voodo run
Sunday - return to CLT

This was an idea that the M2C2 club was talking about during our run and lunch last weekend. Nothing is scheduled. We thought it would be a fun thing to do. Our trouble was that there was not a club in N.O. to help organize. No one from up here knows enough about the local geography to schedule events or hotels, etc. We just thought that it would be a blast if it could happen.

When are you all thinking about doing this? Gulf South Motoring has members pretty much all over the southern half of Louisiana. Currently most of our communication is via facebook, but there is a forum. http://www.gulfsouthmini.org/GSM2/in...on=unread%3CBR
I think it would be a shame if collectively we can't help you all get this to happen. Let me know what you need.

Hi Guys, GSM host Many annual runs which include the River road / plantation areas from North to south River road and Several Bayou Runs all the way from the Tabasco plant to the Abita brewery. Let us know a Date and we would be happy to host some runs and show you all the good places to eat along the way. ; ) You can check out some past events on our site www.gulfsouthmotoring.net or on our facebook page via Dirk's link above. This sounds like fun!

Let's start up a cooperative conversation and GET 'ER DONE! We'd be thrilled to work with you guys for a great weekend in South Louisiana. Might even get the PANHANDLE group from Florida involved.

Greetings all. I have resisted these forums until now...but when I tried to "motivate" my dear hubby, Rum4, to organize it, he kicked the can back at me. So I have never been to New Orleans but would love to drive down. At the Midlands Mini Motoring meeting last night (thanks to all who attended), it seemed like there is real interest in this trip to New Orleans. So, I think what I'll do is post something on the Midlands Mini Motoring Facebook page to get an idea of a good date for as many people as possible, and then go from there. I saw where one club did an Oktoberfest drive North of NOLA several years ago but didn't see anything in the last couple of years. But...there was a map! Again, sorry if I'm breaking some NAM code here, but cut me slack, I'm new.
Thanks!
Thanks!
