Yeah so title says everything...I'll just leave this here. Take a minute to realize I had two shirts on. Just wanted to get some people's opinions on this. Anyone else ever have this happen?! I have an 05 MCS w/ leatherette seats.

I'm not that surprised - for my 08 R56, I can never put it on the highest setting because it would probably burn me if I did. It gets wicked hot at 2/3 dots already, so usually I put it on 1.
I haven't had any problems with the heaters in my '05, but I've only used them about 10 times. I remember another post about it though and I think it had a pic of the seat with a hole burned in it.
Click on the links in the first post to see the pics as they don't automatically load. The last post has more pics and an idea on what he thinks the problem is.
Have not heard for a while of having this happen. That link above is great in goes into detail about that pad sensor. Most dealerships replaced the seat bottoms. I have seen it on a bunch of cloth option seats and some leather seats. I have 250K on mine and still running well.
This is not a frivolous matter. I also had way too heated seats in my 07 MCS. The seats were literally not bearable to sit on even on the lowest heat setting. My dealer fixed this problem using a factory provided fix. I think they replaced part of a wiring harness to the seats. Now all is well.
Can anybody else actually see the coils for the heaters imprinted in the seats? Mine look like they've been stamped in on the inside of the leatherette
1) No sold in singles as shown ( One Per front seat ) also have to be already wired for heated seats.
2) The plug runs in location of when you unplug the plug from the exterior / underside of the seat to the main plug from the wire loom under the seat , its a piggyback. Just connects between the two like adding resistor.
