Should I? Wanting to do it....

Hi all, sure could use some input. Spent the day today driving Mini's again, having a good friend at the dealership. I was helping a buddy find his new ride and was really impressed with the 3 cyl. manual.

Coincidentally, my selling dealer 600 miles away made me an offer today on a new 2015 "base". I have a 2012 Cooper (Justa) with satellite radio, heated seats, moonroof and a 6 speed manual with 33,700 miles. Excellent shape.

His offer is $2500 off the 2015 Cooper w 6 spd manual, heated seats, "loaded package" which is both the Media Package and the Premium Package. Plus he'll give me $12,850 on my trade and the $500 loyalty cash. I save $1,000 in taxes on trading. Plus, 0.9-1.9% financing.

It's all pepper white with the 16 x 6.5" silver alloys, (which is fine for the old bones), and it looks killer.

So, that said, should I pull the trigger? Rare that I see $2500 off a $25,245 Mini, at least around here. No sports seats/package, but I think I can live w/o it. Thanks in advance!

I'm a noob here, but I've been shopping and testing quite a few over the last couple of weeks. For comaprison, Mini in VA told me right away they were discounting all 2015s $2500...and 2016s, $1500. SOme kind of grand opening and year-end deal. Also, they might do a search for the exact one you want. FWIW, I went in thinking I would "need" the S, but wanted to try the new Steptronic and paddles...realized the base if plenty fun in manual, saving thousands. I do want the sport seats though - still looking and probably ordering a 16 for spring delivery. Good luck!

Getting a big discount on a brand new MINI is still uncommon. It sounds like it's a configuration that fits you really well; I say jump on it!

Yes! I wrote the salesman tonight and said basically that unless they can do another $500 off (for a total of $3,000), that I'm going to pass. Louisville KY was offering 2500 off certain 2016's and they're closer! But, they don't have one equipped like I want. So if they agree, I think I'll do it and drive the long haul to VA.

Discount on a new MINI, I would get that. Remember the days when it was MSRP + or MSRP , you were lucky.

If you get it post up some pics.

No comment there...my F56 was the first one I was able to get below MSRP.

From what I've read you'll get a lot faster car with the F56 Justa which includes a turbocharger, compared to your R56 Justa. Sounds like a good deal to me.

My advice. If it is the car you want at a good discount and you are happy with the trade why would you not go for it? Hey, if they came back and say no to the extra $500 off I still would take the deal. They want to sell you are car and it sounds like a great one at that. GO FOR IT!!!!! You will never stop smiling!

Looking at Volcanic orange with black top stripes and mirror caps. Same deal (3K off) but about $600 more than where I started. It has Sports package with cloth and vinyl sport seats. It has 18" silver Yours 2 tone with 40 series rubber as option. Dealer will swap out for Victory Spoke 16" in black or silver.

Those with Volcanic orange--What colors are your wheels??

Silver wheels with mine, looks good with the yellow and black color combo. Here is mine the day I picked him up.

Love the VO. Unfortunately dealer sold the on I liked last night. Now my only choices are:

1) Pepper White with Loaded Pkg--no Sports package. Love the color, not sure on standard seats.

2) White Silver, black roof and wheels with Loaded Pkg and Sports Pkg

#2 has all I want and more, but not in love (yet) with white silver.

Wait and let the dealer know that, they can usually get from other dealers the model you want. Don't buy if you are not going to like it. You may be able to get a better deal, if they really want to push you into the 2nd vehicle, then make sure they sweeten the deal. Keep faith you will get paired with the correct Mini for you.
