Well, it took one day for delivery within Baltimore and essentially three full days for yours to arrive in Richmond. Sterling is just over an hour or so from Baltimore, so maybe I'll fall somewhere in between.

So I installed the DDM RIS Never knew a Mini Sounded so great! On a side note, don't install that crappy vacuum line they give, I was able to reuse the factory hard plastic line. I lost my brakes and nearly swiped my mailbox. I'll get you guys a video soon! Since you guys like pictures I'll add a couple!

Anything to look out for besides using the right oil (I think I read 5w30 synthetic in the manual, but don't have it in front of me)?
Anyone have any input? Would hate to 'have' to go to the dealer since it's an hour away, but also don't want to screw anything up.

Getting the good motor oil is the easy part. You need OEM oil filters, suggest getting a case of them online..

You can honestly do the oil change yourself at home! It's quite simple. If you don't trust yourself I'm sure any reputable BMW indy shop will do an oil change for you!

On a side note, Does your engine have a slight visual vibration that it shakes your airbox? I was out on a spirited drive with my brother up in the mountains. We stopped at the top of the mountain and I opened up my hood to let the engine bay cool a bit. I saw my intake shaking with the motor- Never seen it before.. I don't feel any vibrations inside the car or anything.

Haven't noticed anything from inside the cabin and I've yet to run Chuck with the hood up. Never done my own oil changes before, and I think my biggest problem would be getting rid of the used oil.

Go here and plug in your ZIP Code: http://earth911.com/recycling/used-m...l-and-filters/. You'll be surprised how many places there are near you to drop off used oil.

OK, guys. The GP2 front undertray and hardware are in my garage, and I'm awaiting delivery of the rear GP2 diffuser and the 22mm rear sway bar. Soon, I'll be smooth and flat!

What have you done for your '13 lately?

In my neighborhood, used oil pickup is part of our weekly trash pickup. 2 gallons a week. They even leave the containers for oil and a ziplock for filter. Check with your waste management. They say it's free, but I bet it isn't absolutely free.

Here it's free at most of the drop-off points; you just have to get it there.

After getting the first oil change at 5300 and them giving me a free car "wash" I noticed last night it must have been a machine wash cause my front plate that is on a US Mill Works no holes bracket is pulled away from the metal on one edge. Just have to take the plate of and straiten it out, and from now on take it off or tell them I don't want a wash xD

Another good reason not to let them wash your MINI, SB.

Every time I take one in for service, I post my sign on the dashboard:

Do Not Wash Unless:

you wash by hand
you use the two bucket method
you use microfiber mitts
you dry with microfiber waffle weave towels

It gets a few laughs and gets the point across very clearly.

I took mine in for service, put the do not wash sign and told the SA no wash. They did not wash it but still managed to mar and swirl parts of my bonnet. My next sign will say, Don't Touch The Paint!! And I'll leave some micro fiber gloves and apron. Either that or I'll schedule a pick up for the oil, filter and wiper inserts and change them myself. Lol. I hate being OCD.

Embrace and be proud of the OCDness.

Back in the best years of this board, we had an OCDetailers Club and we were proud to have cleanest and most shiny MINIs on the road. I still am.

I do embrace it and my wife and kids accept it, so I'm good. OCDetailers Club is something I would join. Will you be my sponsor?

Consider yourself a member !

You ever get bored... go to the Detailing forum and read some of the threads from back in 2007-2009... we had some doozies and tons of fun in that forum.

Dang, Bertie got into a fender bender. Me and an old lady in a Buik LeSabre were backing out at the same time from opposite aisles of the parking lot. She doesn't seem to have any damage, Bertie needed a new bumper cover. The bumper cover had ripped when it was pushed against the Aluminium stiffener bar in the back bumper.

He's actually repaired and at the body shop now. I though they said they could do him by Friday the 11th, but they thought they said Friday the 4th, so I was surprised to get a call form them yesterday. We only took him in on Tuesday, so that's pretty good going.

We wanted him back for the 11th as we have an Autocross on the Sunday (the body shop though we meant tomorrow). Its the first round of the "Slush" season if the Oakland A's don't win and/or the Boston Red Sox lose. (if both of them happen there will be a baseball game in the stadium adjoining our parking lot.)

ZERO CELS ALTA claims on the 3" JCW Downpipe exhaust that it won't do CELs. i'll have to look into the ALTA FMIC, i do get some turbo lag on my auto coupe; thx for heads up! however i prob need to do either an intake or cooper s airbox to JCW airbox upgrade to fix that

I know. We're collectively hating you for whatever's left of your 30-day vacation.

Who do you think you are, Congress?

Wow, it's been more than two weeks since anyone posted here. Did SuperGreg get back across the border? Is CR still in search of the perfect piece of land for his MINI mansion? Will I ever get the rear sway bar and diffuser installed?

Inquiring minds want to know!
