Naming your MINI.
I don't even have my clubbie yet, but his name is Pip. I can thank a friend for the name. I posted pics of him on facebook the day I ordered him, and one friend made a comment that ended with "Pip pip, cheerio" and Pip just seemed to fit.
Brown Betty....SNICKERS! Yep, sounds good to me. Just think of it as a middle name and when she isn't around you can call it Snickers...I won't tell...
As I was driving to a super rad MINI meet in the area on Sunday (19 MINIs rolling through curvy, windy, awesome roads out to Luray Caverns here in the DC area), it hit me that everyone had named their car and I was the only one in the group. Well as my friend and I are messing with my iPhone, I got an email reminding me about Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin being "on demand" this month. And it hit me, my Laser Blue Mini had a name ... Lucy van Pelt. I love Peanuts so it totally fits and I am super ecstatic now!
Ours is named "Her Majesty" - For me, all vehicles, boats and cars, are named after women, and I just liked the British sound of it.
I originally wanted to name her Miss Moneypenny, after James Bond's secretary. My wife didn't like it, thought it reminded her of "Moneypit"—can't have that!

I'm not very good at naming vehicles so I figured it was going to be hard. My son is two years old and was in love with my truck and loved riding around in it. He always refers to my truck as "DadsTruck" which of course carry's over to "MomsCar" and "DadCycle." We figured he'd be heartbroken when I traded in DadsTruck.
Well I come home with my yellow Mini and he went absolutely bananas. He ran up to the car and (OCD guys look away now) proceeded to put hand prints on every square inch of the car. He was so excited and the whole time was yelling "YELLOW!" He's learned his colors recently and most of my stuff is yellow. He was going crazy, he'd turn and look at us and point at the car and yell "Yellow!" making sure we knew the car was yellow. His great grandmother came out to see the car but she was going to just look at it from the door. My son was having none of that and went and dragged her across the lawn to come see the new car.
I opened the door and he climbed all over the inside and sat in the drivers seat. I really think he's under the impression that I bought this car for him.
Well, when we went to finally go inside he stops and turns and looks at the car and waves and says "Bye bye Yellow."
So, while it isn't the most unique name, it' has meaning and that's important, so my car's name is simply...."Yellow."

I named mine Vince. I didn't have a name because I am not good at naming things (though calling my Spec V Lafanda from Napolean Dynamite was funny because it had a fat butt and acted just like her). Well about a year after I bought it I got in a fender bender on my way to work. I was telling a coouple of friends about it and they began to pick on me saying that I was a regular crash test dummy. So I turned to the internet and looked up the names of the Crash test dummies from the early 90s and BAM there it was Vince. I get wierd looks becuase I am a guy and my car has a masculine name but then I tell them the story and they understand.
I've never been one to name vehicles, but I think I'll name this one "Mouthbreather".
Named after the oxygen-deprived individuals who were obviously working the assembly line the day my car was built.

i was peeling off the carmax sticker decals when i stopped after the the lines under carmax and the x. I took a step back and noticed it wasn't coming off very good so i was going to wait till the next day when i can do it properly. Then i noticed the word "carma". CARMA it hit me like a truck. So my car's name is carma. She is a feisty girl like the one from kickass.
