That's awesome! I don't see many Minis on my way to work, but I wave, anyway. I get about a 50% return wave rate. Makes my day when they wave back!

I'm at about 50% wave return rate as well in manhattan and brooklyn.. On the west side highway I occasionally get people honking as they pull up next to me with a thumbs up.. and they weren't even driving MINI's

 

Not driving Minis?! How cool is that! I had a man approach me in a
Raking lot to ask me about my Mini Clubbie. He LOVED it. He was driving a GINORMOUS SUV. Said he fell in love with the Mini ever since seeing "The Italian Job"

Gotta love driving such an iconic vehicle! He was astounded at my 36mpg!

Seeing the movie, certainly didn't hurt, but I have ALWAYS done a double take when I would see one on the road!!

 

I had a passenger of a non-MINI wave at me one day.
I waved back

 

Of the 2 MINI's I saw yesterday, both owners waved at me enthusiastically

Still makes my day!!!

 

I've NEVER had someone wave back or anything! Even the other mom at my kids school who has a mini doesn't wave!! People in Seattle aren't friendly!!

 

I'm in Miami. If someone "waves" at you in traffic here, it almost always involves a middle finger.

 

BOOOOO Wave anyway To heck with 'em!!

 

Had another MINI owner intentionally park next to me at a steak house. Inspired me to be on the lookout to do the same.

 

The first week I had mine I tried waving at a few, and my return rate was 0%. I had one dude in a red MCS wave at me in Blackhawk near the casinos, so I waved back, but otherwise I've given up.

 

I did that once in a Mall parking lot, and took a picture of them, playing nicely, side by side

 

LOL, I do this too!! Then I feel silly when I realize I'm not in my MINI...

So yep, I'm a confirmed MINI waver.

 

Aw... that stinks! Well, be on the lookout next Fall for a Purple Haze MINI waving at you... we're just about to buy one for our daughter (student at UPS) & she loves to go to Seattle. I'm sure she'll be waving!

 

After about a month with my MINI, I've had almost every person driving another MINI wave or flash his lights at me. Of course, I think I've seen less than 10 MINIs in Green Bay during that time, although I was on a bike ride through a nearby neighborhood the other day and saw three MINIs within two blocks of each other.

 

I get more than waves.

 

I don't have my MINI yet, but I still have the impulse to wave at them. I've gotten a couple of waves back. Though, when Im in my Jetta and wave at a Jetta driver, Im still and O-fer.

 

When I got my first Mini a few months ago, a friend told me that Mini owners always wave at each other. Sort of a club thing..So I started waving, or at least a "thumbs up"..Not many wave back though. Maybe it's where I live(Kentucky)..I don't care. I'll continue waving until someone beats me up!!!

 

Most of the time if I make eye contact I just flash a peace sign.

 

Was this in March? was it a JCW?

 

i've only had mine for a week. I wasn't sure of the wave, being a jeep wrangler convert, we waved to each other about 95% the time. So I was pleased when I saw that the wave went with the mini also.
