YES. I was on the I-295 in NYC heading North back home when I saw a lowered pepper white / black R56 with black wheels. He tooted and waved and so did I....

So, Yes. Even in New York City....

I don't usually wave, but I do blink my lights and sometimes do the "lights and sound" show by honking and flashing at the same time! LOL

98% of the time with no response from the other MINIs :(

But I keep on doing it!

Also, when riding with the family, we always like to play the Spot-a-MINI game where the one that spots a mini first yells MINICOOPAH! MINICOOPAH! LOL

I'm currently at a 20% rate right now. Hoping to change the mentality of Cooper owners in the Middle TN area!

I got one the other day, and I wasn't even in my MINI yet lol. I was getting in after work and an older gent was motoring by and made a point to wave. I smiled, waved back, and smiled the whole way home. I love when I get a MINI wave.

..just earlier today, was out in the driveway washing and polishing up our lil' justa....
...so I was in the perfect postition to finally get to exchange waves with the driver a beautifil new pepper white clubman s that I've recently caught glimpses of zipping past our house & pulling into a driveway about 7 houses down.
...thats exactly the car I've been daydreaming about to have (one day) for our 2nd Mini in the garage...arrrrggh!

..they were outside for a while chatting with the neighbors (high 70's in S. TX today) so I was gonna go meet em' & see about getting a pic of Minis posing together...but was getting dark...& then they zipped off to go motor, ...maybe next time.

Another neighbor, about 2 blocks down, had a nightfire (like us) but with white roof...she would wave like crazy everytime she saw us ...she stopped 1 day when I was out washing/waxing & we met & chatted. ...I just saw her zip by recently..in a brand new chile red/w MCS! ..hope this trend in our neighborhood continues
J

I waved at a PW/Black Mini today as we approached eachother. Then i realized I was driving my BMW X3 at the time. Got a wave back too. I guess he figured I knew him. Or maybe he also owns an X3 too.

I wave at every MINI i pass. Most times I don't get a wave. But the other day I waved at a 2nd Gen S as I was walking and got a wave back! I felt cool.

Waved at a Yellow MINI today, twice.
Both times in opposite directions, no wave back.

Got a wave yesterday from a CR/W on a street here in West Seattle. It still happens, but waving is down considerably.

About half wave back here in Olympia.

I always count MINIs when I'm out driving, I wasn't driving my MINI yesterday, but I counted five MINIs in a fifty minute drive around town, three were red!

Most MINI owners in the Atlanta area wave! Some even honk ... and that just scares me when they come out of no where from behind Lots of MINIs here! I see the same 3-4 to and from work every day. Have no idea who they are but all wave.

Not too many MINI's in my part of the world, probably because the nearest dealership is a few hours away. Around here, I notice that drivers of Gen 1's usually do not wave. I attribute that to an assumption that most folks here buy their MINI's off of the local pre-owned car lots and have not been informed about the wave.

Is it bad that I've already started to wave at MINIs here in Atlanta, even though my MINI CM won't be here from the factory until next month?

I agree that in the San Francisco region, the MINI density is so high that there's little novelty. I'll wave on the back roads, though. Besides, if you do see me and I don't wave back atcha, it's probably just that cup of coffee in the other hand. :D

DTC and a snowy wave

Maryland got about 7" of snow today. Left for work at 11am, as the roads didn't seem too bad. First time I tried the Traction Control. Roads where very wet and very slushy in spots. She powered through it all gracefully! Passed a mini, totally covered with snow (hilarious) coming towards me and got a wave

Loving this car more every day!! Hope we are done with snow

You caught "Mini fever" the moment you placed that order!! Before I picked my Clubman up I smiled at other Minis from ear to ear, now that I drive one, I wave at ALL Mini's. I usually get one back, or they wave first!! Not many in my area, so fairly rare to spot one.

Enjoy your Baby when it arrives!! Be sure and name it!!

Not to be a pest, but I had a fun thread going entitled "If this is wrong, I don't want to be right"...
