I've heard of people smacking themselves in the chin with the shift ****, when it suddenly came off.

after close to two months of ownership i finally was able to drive my for the third time, on the second time out the thermostat housing cracked and thanks to BMW hosing the world it's been less than a pleasant first experience. finally was able to locate a replacement, and a few four letter words and no more coolant leaks.

so my big thing i did with my mini toady was drive it!

btw it's a yellow/black 08 R56, the only thing it's missing is me driving it more

That's ABY NOR MAL #1. The nice lady at stuckonminis.com made it custom for me, then got enough people asking for it when she posted it on FB for me to see that it's now available on her site....

Hmmm every time I pulled really hard on the shift ****, it pretty easily detached from the lever, but it took a lot of force to separate it from the boot. Only when I held the ring of the boot and pulled hard on the **** did they come apart!

On R53's it is a ziptie on the inside of the boot that holds it to the **** IIRC... You break that loose you could be missing teeth or a sunroof!

[QUOTE=Dillon;3811126]installed my NM strut bar from Way Motor Works. Overall I like it (even though it feels kinda flimsy) but does anyone else have trouble with it lightly rubbing the factory intake?

Yes, my Clubman is 2011 S. Looks like that strut was designed for the 2010. I think the intake box changed in 2011. It is very annoying during idle since the rubbing noise is rough. I but a cloth between the strut and the intake box.
Its a quick fix. I need to look for an aftermarket intake soon.

More Plasti Dip in my future today. The parts and pieces I have done so far are holding up really well after a few washes. So, the roof line black is getting a much needed touch up today.

The wheels look really nice on your MINI. Glad you decided to hold on to them!

Replaced the tank vent valve thing that is in the engine compartment with the $20 cross over part from Autozone. Code for it went away. Now its time to wash and make the car nice so cleaning it Thursday before MM9 will be a breeze

Put LEDs into parking lights and installed 3rd brake light flasher.

Looking for suggestions on fog / driving lights mounted in front of grill.

Upholstered and installed the rear seat delete then introduced the primary user to it.

It was on Friday, but the Kid may be appearing in a MINI TV commercial. It's for a local dealership so it will just be for the surrounding market and the internet. Turns out that the Kid is way better in front of the camera than his dumba$$ owner. They spent waaaaaaaay more time filming him than once I started talking...

Late Friday: washed, dried, and parked in the shop.

Saturday: clay bar, and washed with rinseless car wash & distilled water (first time I've tried it. LOVE IT)

Sunday: polished, then washed again with rinseless CarWash & distilled water, and finally waxed.

Wow! I'm tired. Rinseless car wash is awesome though!

I think I got all the mineral stains from my hard-well-water off. It's always been such a race to dry it before.

So it's clean clean and waxed for the winter. I'll never again have to spray the garden hose on my MINI.

Rinseless is the best! I've had better results, and in less time and effort, once I moved to rinseless. Less messy too!

What did you use? I've grown quite fond of Optimum brand products.
