Got home and the darn tube was off again. Time to shop for an aftermarket one now.

Dropped him off at the dealer for an oil change, and to have them check for a cold-start rattle.

Driving a Countryman loaner--wow, I'm sitting so high up in the air!!!

Thanks Albie! Working on doing something about the center caps and lug nuts too. You'll see them in May.

Painted It!

My neighbor bought me a used, non-working RC MINI, but it was red with a white top, white rear views and white wheels. I couldn't keep it in the house while I await mine on or about April 10, so I painted it to be order-correct (sans the hood stripes):

ive also started to de-chrome my mini........but i didnt go the black plasti-dip route.

since i have the red w/ white top.....i figured white would accentuate the car nicely.....

amazing what a few coats of Krylon Fusion can do..

totally needs a bath...cant wait for the New England winter to be over so they can stop with the road salt.

Looks great! Are you going to do the grille trim and belt line also?

thank!

i havent quite decided yet.....im worried that if i 'white-out' all the trim, that it will start to look cartoonie.......

i know for certain i am going to paint the gas cap white....

the grill trim i am undecided on whether to white or black it out.

the window trim i will most likely black out

and the door handles and front quarter panel badging i may leave chrome.

You are the only other person that has white trim rings. I did this myself a few years ago but, I have a LBM instead of CR.

I also washed my car today and I officially hate the MINI jack. It can go **** itself right into the dumpster where it will probably end up. I jacked up the car so I could remove my wheels to wash and wax them. Luckily really luckily I had not removed the wheels when the jack felt like I didn't have it in the right place and fell destroying my side skirt. It will be okay because I am going to buy the JCW ones and work a deal with the dealership becuase there is rust under the cover. I am going to get them to fix it and use the left over paint to paint the side skirts and reinstall them.

I detailed the mini. First decent wash + polish + Trim Dying.

Here is a picture of the trim with Kiwi Shoe Dye.

Worked on trying to keep the turbo inlet tube to actually stay on the turbo. What a p.i.t.a.!!

I cleaned my DDMWORKS PFB.

Also ordered the following: 1. Powerflex lower engine mount bushing 2. Alta turbo inlet hard pipe 3. K&N filter for the PFB
