My license tag says "IMAMINI" and at the gas pump, the women say

"I like your MINI"

and I say

"Come Again?"

Got an inspection and renewed my tag. Also, changed my manual trans fluid. Not as hard as I thought it would be.

Put "Chromirror" bulbs in both MINI's clear side marker lights. No more "fried egg" look.

In preparation for taking my car in for its first scheduled maintenance, I took the RMW tune off. Tried to drive it spiritedly for comparison and was stunned at the difference. No torque steer, JCW exhaust sounded stock, didn't have to feather the throttle in 1st and 2nd to avoid wheel spin (actually tried to spin the wheels and failed, even with DSC/DTC off), and it seemed like there was a lot more noise from the turbo diverter valve. My car felt sedated. If it wasn't for the curves I probably would have fallen asleep. Can't wait to put the tune back on!

Got a call from my SA today saying that the tech believes the clutch/flywheel rattle is norm.. Gonna have them keep it one more day and hopefully get a different tech to look at it

your withdrawals must be getting worse! I just got my car back. The loaner was an MCS but the auto tranny just ruined it for me. I'm so glad to have my car back. Gotya flash my ecu back to Fun Mode now.

Went to a local old fashioned auto carpet shop. The guy hand cut a piece of self forming material, edged it and slotted it for easy access to the seat and belt anchor points. An hour in the sun and it had formed itself to the floor. Anything I put back there can be easily secured with bungie cords. With the privacy tray in place, you can barely see what's back there. The cost was heart rending. $50!

I had to see a psychiatrist after bringing my Cooper S in for service.
They gave me a Hyundai Sonata as a loaner.

Nice slam job Big! You gonna get a grill over that intercooler? I'd hate to see a rock punch a hole in it.

O.K. it was last weekend but I washed my baby. Soon after I noticed a big rain cloud heading my way so I drove an hour south to my brother's place and hung out in the sunshine if only to keep her clean a little longer.

Yeah, I'm a little nuts...but damn if she doesn't look so sweet when she's clean!
